A designation in American history which includes Gabriel Kolko, William Appleman Williams, Gar Alperovitz, Walter LaFeber, Howard Zinn and others.

This usage is to be distinguished from class of authors know as Holocaust deniers who also call themselves "revisionist historians." The latter may be identified by their published articles in their own journal, the Journal of Historical Review, which is published by their organization, the Institute for Historical Review.
