Omar S. Amanat is a businessman and entrepreneur who founded several financial technology companies including Tradescape, a brokerage and technology firm thatis reported to have processed 7% of NASDAQ's daily trading volume, and was named one of the "Top 100 Companies in the United States" by the Red Herring magazine . E*Trade entered into an agreement to acquire Tradescape for total consideration worth up to $280 million and Mr. Amanat became one of E*Trade's largest shareholders.


He is also an Executive Producer of films including the Academy Award nominated "The Visitor (2008 film)," George Clooney's documentary about the Darfur genocide entitled "Darfur Now," "Smart People" starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Dennis Quaid, and "The Mysteries of Pittsburgh" starring Sienna Miller and Nick Nolte among other films .
