Template:Move to Wiktionary Xylology is the study of wood. It is composed of "xylo-" (derived from the greek 'xylon'= "wood") and "-logy", meaning "science of", "study of".

Usage: this term is hardly ever used, except in "palaeoxylology" = "the study of fossil wood".
