Serbia

Denmark–Serbia relations are foreign relations between Denmark and Serbia. Serbia amaintains diplomatic relations with Denmark at the ambassadorial level. Denmark have a embassy in Serbia, and Serbia have a embassy in Denmark. There are around 12,000 people of Serbian descent living in Denmark.

Economic relations

In the first six months of 2004, commodity trade with Denmark was US$ 37 million. Exports accounted for US$ 3.4 million and imports for US$ 33.7 million. The well-known Danish brewery "Carlsberg" bought a 51% stake in the ‘’Celarevo’’ brewery. South East European countries, including Serbia and Montenegro, presented their potential and investment needs in Copenhagen in December 2003. The event was hosted by the Confederation of Danish Industries.

  • A Bilateral Arrangement with Denmark on the Settlement of the Debt Owed to the Paris Club - signed in Belgrade on Dec. 9, 2002
  • The Agreement on Succession of Bilateral Treaties - signed in Copenhagen on Jul. 18, 2003.
  • Agreement on the implementation of an economic development programme - signed on Sep. 7, 2006.

The Neighbourhood Programme

Denmark provides assistance to the democratisation process of Serbia by strengthening the civil society. Aid is given to the implementation of economic reforms which will benefit the private sector and enhance employment generation.
