Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here.
    Shortcuts

Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Repeated (since 1 June) additions of spam links by a tour company, hopping across a range of IP addresses—userblock not feasible. Old Moonraker (talk) 17:35, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

    The Wiggles (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Summer's upon us, which usually means that this article gets an increase in vandalism, especially by anonymous IP users. There has also been a shake-up of the group's line-up recently, so it will most likely increase even more. Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 16:13, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

With Ears to See and Eyes to Hear (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – There is no need to have this page unprotected. All the IP address edits have ever done is change the final track, which is clearly stated in a hidden comment not to do and is always reverted either by me or other editors. . GunMetal Angel 16:02, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

Murder of Lin Jun (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Alesha Dixon discography (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary semi-Protection: Persistent Vandalism by a user who keeps adding false certifications MR JKX 14:30 7 June 2012 (UTC)

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Doesn't seem to be out-of-control to the point of needing semi-protection. Vandalising users should be warned and reported to WP:AIV as appropriate. CT Cooper · talk 19:04, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

    Mario Party 9 (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruption by a dynamic IP whom appears to be the same person as the first three digits are always 124.xxx.xxx.xxx; neither dispute resolution nor warning him on his talkpage would seem to do any good, as he comes back with a different IP at least every day, if even more frequently. The IP(s)apparently dig up two extra minigames somewhere in the game and add a list of characters in violation of WP:NOTGAMEGUIDE and WP:GAMECRUFT. Black Yoshi (Yoshi! | Yoshi's Eggs) 12:47, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

Semi-protected for a period of 1 month, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. CT Cooper · talk 19:01, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

    Cardiff City F.C. (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary semiprotection: the recent change in the club's colour has apparently upset many IP-using fans, who would like us all to know how terrible the new strip is. Yunshui  12:32, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

Semi-protected for a period of 2 weeks, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. CT Cooper · talk 18:57, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

    Luka Magnotta (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary full-protection - should be protected until June 8 but someone removed the full protection. More vandalism/disputes since.--BabbaQ (talk) 09:43, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

    • Oppose. I attempted to add valid, sourced information here and you removed it without explanation. I've raised that issue on the article's talk page. Furthermore, it's not that "someone removed the full protection" but that the length of full protection was changed to June 5 (not 8) after an admin contacted the editors in question. 66.102.83.61 (talk) 14:40, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
    • Oppose as well. The article is in a fluid state because the ongoing investigations and stories are continuing to change the situation (e.g.: a hand and foot mailed to schools in Vancouver are now being linked to the case). There are many eyes on the article, including several administrators, so any aspects of vandalism are being removed quickly. Full protection would be detrimental to this article at this time, imo. Resolute 15:59, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Semi-protection has already been re-implemented and I don't see any pressing need for full protection. CT Cooper · talk 18:47, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

    Drive-in theater (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary semi-protection High traffic page (or will be) due to Google's Doodle. - M0rphzone (talk) 07:24, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

DeclinedPages are not protected preemptively. Has suddenly got busier, but not by enough to justify protection at this point, particularly as some IPs are making good faith edits. CT Cooper · talk 18:45, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

    Template:Anticon (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

Temporary semi-protection: A rotating anonymous IP keeps insisting on introducing bands against consensus at Template talk:Anticon, Talk:Genghis Tron, WT:ALBUM etc. The IP was already blocked once for edit warring but avoids further blocks by rotating. Requesting longer (but temporary) semi-protection. Muhandes (talk) 06:30, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

    • I came here also to request temporary semi-protection for this article. The anonymous IP has systematically ignored the guidance and comments of all the other editors involved - semi-protecting the article may encourage the editor to register an account (from which they might edit in a more collaborative manner). memphisto 15:04, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

    Wasteland 2 (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protection. Persistent vandalism. IP edit waring Jim1138 (talk) 03:02, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – User request. Breawycker (talk to me!) 01:36, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

    Semi-protected indefinitely CT Cooper · talk 18:38, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

    Knowledge (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protection: persistent IP edit warring over "get to philosophy" game. __ Just plain Bill (talk) 00:22, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Seems to be just one IP, and nothing has happened since this morning anyway. CT Cooper · talk 18:36, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

    Genghis Tron (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protection: IP-jumping user continually adding a navbox (of suspect quality itself), without waiting for consensus. This edit-warring doesn't seem likely to stop, and the ever-changing IP address prevents simply blocking the user. I've been drawn into an edit war (and have likely violated 3RR) due to this, so protection will help until the discussion on the talk page has reached a consensus. MrMoustacheMM (talk) 00:15, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

    • See also Template:Anticon above. This anonymous IP has systematically ignored the guidance and comments of all the other editors involved - semi-protecting the article may encourage the editor to register an account (from which they might edit in a more collaborative manner). memphisto 15:06, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
    • I would also like to endorse this request. The IP is edit warring on several articles (also on Template:Anticon and Sole and the Skyrider Band) while escaping WP:3RR by repeatedly (and I believe intentionally) changing IPs in different ranges so they cannot be blocked. Semi-protection seems the only way to stabilize the situation. --Muhandes (talk) 17:12, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

    Rosie O'Donnell (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – This page seems to attract a good deal of vandalism, and is a moderately high-traffic BLP. . ~Adjwilley (talk) 23:54, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

    • This should be shifted back to indef given the sheer length of the log for the article, seems the semi-prot was lifted for the PC trails but never reinstated once the trials ended. tutterMouse (talk) 10:19, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

List of Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated episodes (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary semi-protection: High level of IP vandalism. Have had a lot of IP addresses posting unsourced episode listings and they are not taking the hint with the constant reverting and removal. Swifty* 22:59, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

    Template:British Royal Family (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

Temporary semi-protection: - IPs make wrong edit on this page and they remove the names. I asked for semi-protection yesterday but my request was not accepted. Please protect this page just for some days. Keivan.f 10:19, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

Fully protected for a period of 2 weeks, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Making repeat requests to protect a certain page within a short space of time can be considered disruptive, but this edit warring has clearly gotten out of hand, so full protection is needed here. I declined yesterdays request, but also gave clear advise on an alternative course of action, which has gone ignored, and did not say "continue edit warring". I will watchlist the page to watch any progress which is made on the talk page. CT Cooper · talk 15:32, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

    America's Best Dance Crew (season 7) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism - Multiple IPs and new users adding unverifiable information and/or simply vandalizing the page. WANI 23:41, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

Semi-protected for a period of 2 weeks, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Dennis Brown - © 13:20, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

    Current requests for unprotection

    Shortcuts

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

    • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
    • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
    • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
    • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.

Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Current requests for edits to a protected page

    Shortcut

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

    • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
    • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Misplaced Pages:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
    • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Misplaced Pages:Requested moves, not here.
    • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
    • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

Semi-protected indefinitely. It was probably a misclick, because both PC and semi-protection were on. I switched it to just semi-protection. Qwyrxian (talk) 08:40, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

Declined Okay, first, I see what happened; Armbrust, you got the two links messed up (this was mine, below is Kww's). But I'm declining this one as well--IP editors were regularly adding unsourced, dubious information. There's only been one edit request here since the protection was put on, and unless there's some better evidence that IP users want to edit it, it's better to keep it on. Declined It's not me it's User:Kww. But I'm going to decline this any way due to past history; I note that whoever it was that requested this hasn't tried use an edit request on the talk page; unless we start to see a lot of talk page requests, I don't see any need for unprotection. Since the previous problems were BLP violations, we need to be extra cautious. You can, however, ask Kww directly if you want. Qwyrxian (talk) 08:35, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
