Alexander Robert Lagemann (born July 28, 1989), known by his stage name "Loggy", is an American college football player and Alternative Hip-Hop Artist. He first gained attention after the release of his debut mixtape, "Up All Night", which he recorded by himself in his college room using GarageBand.

Early life

Lagemann was born in Capitola, California. He was raised in Saratoga, California, and attended Saratoga High School, graduating in 2007. He first achieved success in various sports in high school, excelling in football. As a senior wide receiver he scored 16 touchdowns, posted 36 catches for 727 yards and rushed 11 times for 115 yards, while adding averages of 25.3 yards per punt return (11 for 278 yards) and 29.5 yards per kick return (16 for 472 yards). Lagemann was named to the California All-State Team by NorCalPreps.com, SuperPrep, and the San Francisco Chronicle, and was ranked the No. 49 receiver in the nation by Scout.com, the No. 70 ranked player in California and the No. 68 wide receiver in the nation by Rivals.com.

Football career

Lagemann chose to pursue football, and signed his letter of intent to play for the University of California, Berkeley, over the University of Oregon and Stanford University, among other offers. After fracturing his foot and sitting out his first two years, Lagemann broke into the lineup and caught 12 passes for 150 yards during his sophomore campaign. He was named a 1st Team All-Pac 10 Academic selection.

Music career

Lagemann first began rapping for fun with his friends, who encouraged him to start recording his own songs. He assumed the name "Loggy", as it had been his nickname for most of his life. Writing to instrumentals and remixes of his favorite Hip-Hop, Indie, and Techno songs, Lagemann mixed, mastered, and released his first mixtape, "Up All Night" in just under a month, and gained popularity quickly through various social networking sites and music blogs. He performs mostly at intimate venues and college parties, doing shows at UCSB, UC Berkeley, University of Oregon, Pomona College, and more. He has also shared the stage with artists like Pep Love, Mike Stud, and Shwayze. After the release of his second mixtape, produced and edited by DJ Big Red (his friend and football teammate, Michael Costanzo), Lagemann left the football team to pursue his music career while finishing his degree at Cal. Lagemann has moved on to start the band Radical Something, along with Josh Cocktail and DJ Big Red. It is a departure from Loggy's original sound, and has a more relaxing Cali vibe, that is described as "California sun-rocking."
