Pokémon Origins, known in Japan as Pocket Monsters: The Origin (ポケットモンスター THE ORIGIN, Poketto Monsutā Ji Orijin), is an upcoming Japanese anime television special for Pokémon. Unlike the on-going television series featuring Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu, this special features the characters from the original video games Pokémon Red and Blue, such as main character Red and his neighbor and rival Green (known as "Blue" internationally). The special is split up into four parts; the first part animated by Production I.G, the second and third parts by Xebec, and the fourth part by OLM, Inc.. The special will be broadcast on TV Tokyo on October 2, 2013, two weeks before the release of the X and Y video games, and will be streamed internationally on Nintendo's Pokémon TV service from November 15, 2013.
