For her role as college rockstar Aparna, she had workshops with Royston Abel, Ashley Lobo and Barry John. Shraddha described her character as "a studious girl and is also a guitarist in her college’s music band" and "a very intriguing person."

In 2011, she signed a three-movie contract with Yash Raj Films. However, the contract was soon to be cancelled due to Kapoor decision to transition elsewhere and sign her next film with Mahesh Bhatt's for Aashiqui 2. She starred in Y-Films's venture, Luv Ka The End alongside newcomer Taaha Shah. Of her role and this film, Kapoor stated: "I play a character name Rhea Dialdas who is very feminine, quirky, all in all a typical teenage girl but one with a vindictive dark side when she found out what her boyfriend been really up to. Rhea truly gives meaning to that saying ‘hell hath no fury like a woman scorned'. It's a passtime chick-flick, So I feel in someways most of the burden to carry this film forward lies a lot on me but I just hope I make it worth it to watch." Despite the film's poor performance at the box office, Kapoor's performance attracted generally positive reviews. Rachana of Glamsham Editorial wrote, "Shraddha Kapoor clearly steals the show and it's her performance which lights up the film. She is the star of the film." Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama stated, ' Shraddha also gets to sink her teeth into this challenging character and the attractive youngster is simply amazing, more so towards the demanding moments in the second hour. Furthermore, the chemistry between Aditya and Shraddha is incredible, which also proves yet again that the right casting can work wonders.' The film went on to became a major box-office success attaining a blockbuster status by grossing more than ₹100 crore.
