Gus Yatron was born in Reading, PA. He graduated from Kutztown State Teachers College in Kutztown, PA in 1950. He was a member of the Reading School Board 1955-1961. He was member of the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives from 1956 to 1960, and a member of the Pennsylvania State Senate from 1960 to 1968.
He was elected in 1969 as a Democrat to the 91st Congress Served unitl 1993. He was not a candidate for renomination in 1992.
