ARS Code of Conduct
  • Note that this wikiproject is only intended to improve the encyclopedia. The project is not about casting votes or vote-stacking. Be sure to follow the guideline on canvassing. This means, in part, that you should use Template:Rescue list on the deletion discussion page when you list the discussion here.
  • Focus on improving content. For example, when working on an article listed for rescue, try to qualify topic notability by adding reliable-source references with significant coverage of the topic. Edit the content to address specific concerns raised in the AfD discussion.
  • Show the light. If you comment in an AfD discussion, try to describe points in the nomination that have been corrected. Note any remaining deficiencies (e.g. lack of organization, structural problems, lack of balance, etc.). Base comments upon Misplaced Pages's deletion policy. If an article has been rewritten, you may place a comment in the AfD as a courtesy to assist the closing admin in determining which article version others were referring to.

David Technical Institute

Students at David Technical Institute in 1975

Per the article, "the oldest Typewriting Institute in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India." Needs sources to qualify topic notability. Northamerica1000 01:32, 30 October 2013 (UTC)

List of variations of the Sega Genesis/ Mega Drive

I forgot to ask about this earlier. Its up for merge(replace with a redirect without anything really going to be merged) discussion. Some are complaining about how the article looks, and others believe it needs more sources. I have found and added sources for some things, but not every section is well sourced yet. Dream Focus 23:27, 27 October 2013 (UTC)

List of unusual deaths

Its up for its 7th nomination. Please help work on any real concerns people have for the article. With the article getting coverage in Time Magazine as one of Misplaced Pages's 10th Anniversary: 10 Unforgettable Entries and having 247375 times in the last 90 days, and millions of views over the years, I'm surprised some are trying to get it deleted for a 7th time. Dream Focus 18:36, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

Dragon Ball (anime)

I believe this article can be expanded. There are a lot of things that were censored from it, just like the other anime in the series. I'm having trouble finding a reliable source talking about all the various things. Help would be appreciated. Surely some watched this cartoon in their younger days as I did. Dream Focus 13:14, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

I added some Japanese sourced material through the interviews in the Daizenshuu books which greatly helps the production information because I got the voice actor section up and sourced - something which not even the Japanese Misplaced Pages has yet. I also got the source for Toriyama's artwork being improved through the Dragon Ball anime production. Everything helps. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 21:17, 26 October 2013 (UTC)

List of film clichés

My brief browsing indicates that there are excellent sources for this out there and compiling them ought to be lots of fun. Warden (talk) 19:11, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

You did some significant improvements there. I didn't comment at first, but glad I checked it out again. The current article is much improved. Dream Focus 15:55, 25 October 2013 (UTC)
  • Searching Google news results for "film cliches" has a lot of results to wade through, and many are hidden behind a paywall. I found one nice result straight away though and added it to the article with some new entries. Searching for specific cliches along with the word "film" OR "movie" will surely find some results. Help is always appreciated. Dream Focus 16:33, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

Russian Union of Engineers

Needs sources to qualify topic notability. Northamerica1000 12:57, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

The article was retained. In the AfD's closing comment it is stated, "Consensus view was that the sources provided by User:Green Cardamom demonstrate notability." The sources in the AfD discussion can be used in the article to verify information, as perhaps can some of those already listed in the article. Northamerica1000 06:20, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

Beatrice Thompson

This person may possibly meet WP:BASIC, but the article needs sources to establish notability. Northamerica1000 12:28, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

The article was retained, and thanks to User:Milowent for their work improving the article and its sourcing. Northamerica1000 06:26, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

Glossary of Internet-related terms

Surely there have been books written about this subject, people studying how the internet created new words, or something. Dream Focus 01:54, 18 October 2013 (UTC)

The article was retained after a no consensus AfD result. The article hasn't received any editing from the start of the AfD discussion to the discussion's closure. So naturally, at this time it would still benefit from improvements. Northamerica1000 12:32, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
I think its fine the way it is. But if someone ever finds a notable book or article in a magazine or newspaper talking about internet terms, please add it to the article somewhere. Dream Focus 13:55, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

Bisexuality in the Arab world

This topic is inherently interesting, and probably notable, though it may, after rescue, morph into a fuller article about the entire LGBTQ spectrum on the Arab world. Right now it needs references. Those will safeguard it agains the current AfD discussion. The article needs sowrk, not !votes, though those, after work has been done, will be valuable. Fiddle Faddle 16:00, 17 October 2013 (UTC)

Tin box

Hello Rescuers! I was wondering if you could help me. It's not strictly an AFD, but the article Tin box may be merged into Tin can. I believe the two to be quite distinct items, but am struggling to find sources to prove this is the case. I thought you guys, with your skills at finding sources, may be able to contribute to the merge discussion. I hope this is the correct venue for such a request. Horatio Snickers (talk) 17:58, 10 October 2013 (UTC)

I added some reliable sources that provide significant coverage of the topic, and performed additional edits to improve the article. Northamerica1000 12:45, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

Lord Soth

Major character in the Dragonlance fiction - has the barest start of sources, but could badly use some TLC for better sourcing. BOZ (talk) 00:31, 9 October 2013 (UTC)

The article was retained per a keep result at the AfD discussion. It presently has improvement tags for copy editing, and would also benefit from improved sourcing. Northamerica1000 12:38, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
