Hogenakal Falls is a waterfalls in southern India on the Kaveri River. Major cities in the vicinity are Salem, Bangalore & Dharmapuri. Its around 150 kms from Bangalore . Kaveri falls down at this place creating numerous waterfalls all over the place. It is a very rocky terrain , and the water cuts through the rocks at various places forming the waterfalls. There is a sandy beach , due to accumulation of Sand , where one can relax. Hogenakal Falls means Smoking Rocks in the regional language "Kannada". It can be accessed from both the states of Karnataka and Tamilnadu . The river kaveri at this point is a boundary between the two states. It is a tourist spot for people from nearby cities / towns.
