This is a failed proposal for Misplaced Pages to participate in The Day We Fight Back, a protest held on 11 February 2014. Consensus for its implementation was not established in the limited time available.
Various ideas for "Surveillance Awareness Day" were discussed, but there was no consensus to pursue them because many editors felt that these proposals amounted to engaging in political activism and are against the core values of Misplaced Pages. Participants in the discussion decided to focus on improving Misplaced Pages's overall coverage of mass surveillance-related topics at Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Mass surveillance.
