Terminology is a terminal emulator for the X Window System and for the Wayland graphic server. The software can also run in a framebuffer console that allows it to be used outside an X11 or Wayland graphic environment. It can be used in different desktop environments , not only with the Enlightenment window manager.
Terminology provides some features not typically found in a terminal emulator, e.g., preview thumbnails of images, videos and documents. It can work with multimedia playback and text-strings manipulation (copying and pasting filenames and urls ), and can be touch controlled.
