"India Against Corruption" is an organization founded on 26.02.2007 campaigning for Right to Information, which (between Nov.2010-Dec.2010) had briefly loaned its name to Arvind Kejriwal for a joint anti-corruption movement in India. Kejriwal's movement's (later known as "Team Anna") membership diverged at various points in time, eventually resulting in the formation of Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party and Anna Hazare's Jantantra Morcha in November 2012 and Jan 2013 respectively after they split from IAC.
Divergence
On 26.10.2012 the IAC organisation and Team Anna agreed that Arvind Kejriwal's faction would completely exit from IAC within 1 month under any circumstances to form their political party with a substantially different name to pursue Team Anna's Lokpal agenda.
On 10.11.2012, Anna Hazare claimed the "India Against Corruption" campaign and said he would open his IAC office in New Delhi..
On 18.01.2013 Hazare publicly dropped his claim to the "India Against Corruption" campaign and closed his offices, saying his campaign (andolan) would be known as Jan Tantra Morcha which he viewed as the successor to IAC.
According to the Hindustan Times of 3 September 2013, "The group, which now runs — and claims to own — the IAC campaign had taken it over immediately after the split but held its first formal meeting on Monday " to abandon the Janlokpal campaign. The IAC's National Convenor is Sarbajit Roy.
Achievements
In 2009 the IAC andolan got the Delhi High Court to declare the Indian Olympic Association (organising the 2010 Common Wealth Games) to be a state body answerable to the citizens.
In 2013 the IAC andolan halted a scheme to illegally transfer a valuable piece of land in the heart of New Delhi belonging to an ailing public sector telecom company to a private body at a throw away price.
