Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here.
    Shortcuts

Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

Constitutional challenges to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Long-term semi-protection: Persistent edit warring / disruption by IP hopper. Page has already been semi-protected for 3, 14, and 30 days to deal with disruption by the same editor. --Dr. Fleischman (talk) 00:18, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Vandalism, Eve Online in game corp trying to add itself to the article, there is also a reddit thread encouraging it. Would do it myself but there are potential Involved/COI issues. Monty845 23:56, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

    Treaty of Paris (1783) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Mexicans of European descent (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary semi-protection: Repeated POV pushing and additions of unsourced claims. Edit war erupting. Alon12 (talk) 23:53, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

Declined – Content dispute. Please use the article's talk page or other forms of dispute resolution. All the participants in the latest round are auto confirmed and would not be effected by semi-protection. Not enough to justify full protection at this point. Monty845 00:05, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

    Khentakawess III (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary full protection: Repeated placement of a biased picture that has never been discussed on the talkpage. There is an ongoing discussion on the talkpage, please lock it until the issue is resolved. It is currently only move protected.143.176.62.228 (talk) 20:58, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

Declined – Content dispute. Please use the article's talk page or other forms of dispute resolution. -- Euryalus (talk) 21:30, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
I have. I've placed an rfc but it isn't helping. The person(s?) placing the picture are not posting anything on the talkpage. 143.176.62.228 (talk) 21:38, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

The same IP range is now edit warring to restore sock edits at Human skin color also. --Pudeo' 19:52, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

List of sovereign states (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

    Bleona (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protection: Persistent POV pushing; repeated additions of unsourced claims; ongoing changes that go against provided sources; persistent vandalism in violation of WP:BLP. Counselb (talk) 18:00, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

    Sultan-ul-Arifeen (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary full protection: Content dispute/edit warring – Persistent vandalism on the part of an editor and/or socks. Article was created as a poorly written biographical article with most information copied from Sultan Bahu. This was AfD'ed by myself but I decided to withdraw the nomination after edits turned the article into something meaningful. However, afterwards an editor (and their socks, SPI report pending) went on to turn the article back into hagiography of Sultan Bahu (vandalising linking articles on the way, like Hamza Makhdoom). In brief the article is a ground of edit war and is requested to be protected in its non-biographical version. Suggested time 1-2 weeks, by which time SPI should be completed. Regards, kashmiri 17:15, 5 January 2015 (UTC). kashmiri 17:15, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

    Fanboy & Chum Chum (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Current target of roving IP - persistent. IP is trying to perpetuate a hoax about the resurrection of an ended TV series "Dan Vs." by inserting info about it in various other articles as the primary article has already been protected from this. Geraldo Perez (talk) 15:10, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

Based on the name of the chief disruptor Gabuchis181, I suspect that he is a sock of Gabucho22, who had the same area of interest. User appears to be employing IPs from Medellin, Colombia, which is another problematic region for kids' TV vandalism. Duque Santiago was from there, I believe. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:53, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
Semi-protected for a period of 3 days, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Euryalus (talk) 21:22, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

    Al-Ram (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Persistent POV vandalism, with abusive edit summaries, by IPs and newly-created SPAs. RolandR (talk) 15:00, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

Semi-protected for a period of 3 months, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Bjelleklang - talk 19:36, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

    Niti Aayog (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Indefinite semi protection - See , article was made by a sock and now he is edit warring/socking with an IP. Bladesmulti (talk) 14:34, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

Justice and Development Party (Turkey) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary semi-protection: IP users are changing 'facts' without consensus and their sources do not meet with the WP:RS. I have warned them through edit summary but they still do these reckless edits. kazekagetr 14:06, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

    Urine therapy (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary semi-protection: I suspect clear sockpuppetry here, first the user reverts with an IP, and soon registers an account for restoring the WP:OR. OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 11:29, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

Albanian Air Force (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protection: article is being repeatedly reverted by IP users, pertaining to aircraft numbers in service based on source material - FOX 52 (talk) 04:53, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

Pop Fiction and Sizzle Books (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Indefinite Semi-protection: Articles are being vandalized regularly. The purpose why I am making a request because the article is a very important article and we don't want unregistered users to edit it and to avoid changes made by IP. Editors must log in first before editing. Sweetchloe16 (talk) 04:34, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

I'm suspicious about this, seems there's some COI involved here especially with the implication of ownership, use of "we" and heavy bias. tutterMouse (talk) 13:02, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
I see no evidence of persistent vandalism; but I do see signs of POV and COI here, here and here. Bjelleklang - talk 15:01, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

    Stephen Yagman (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

    • Indefinite semi-protection - relentless recurrent vandalism by IP editor (76.175.73.87), who is clearly too close to the subject of the article, over long periods of time, removing sourced material he/she deems derogatory; insulting other editors as "an apparently mentally unstable user" in edit summaries (similar to invective used by User talk:Margerypark as well, by the way). Other IP vandals over the years include 68.119.143.104, 76.175.73.102 and 76.170.28.126. This request was denied a few days ago, but in light of the following (, , ), perhaps this time will be different. Quis separabit? 03:21, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
    • Automated comment: A request for protection/unprotection was recently made for this page, and was denied at some point within the last 8 days.—cyberbot I Online 03:33, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

    Serbs (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary full protection: Persistent vandalism. This article is currently semi-protections but that is not enough. User:Lackope,User:Zakoni,User:Mitrale89, IP operate identically, two of them is blocked. I think they sockpuppet. --ChumleeS (talk) 12:05, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level

    Shortcuts

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

    • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
    • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
    • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
    • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.

Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Current requests for edits to a protected page

Further information: Misplaced Pages:Edit requests Shortcut

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

    • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
    • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Misplaced Pages:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
    • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Misplaced Pages:Requested moves, not here.
    • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
    • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

    Fulfilled/denied requests

A rolling archive of the last seven days of protection requests can be found at Misplaced Pages:Requests for page protection/Rolling archive.
