Tubal factor infertility
This is basically PID and should be redirect there IMO. Is there an ICD code for this as a separate condition? Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 10: 26, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for your input. The reason why I turn this into a separate article is that there is enough information contained in the Sternak and other journals to warrant a totally separate article. I have not inserted all information relevant to this topic which gets more into the specific damage treatment and repair of the fallopian tubes. FTI has other causes than just PID. In addition one can have tubal factor infertility that is not caused by PID. Also, different organisms have a different propensity and causing tubal factor infertility. I do have to go back and double check the coding which may not be perfectly accurate at this point of time. Article is by no means perfect or complete at this point. But since there is so much overlap in the topics of PID and tubal factor infertility, it was just economical to work on both articles at the same time. There is a lot of specific information related to tubal infertility factor that would be too detailed to include in the PID article. Bfpage | leave a message 10: 37, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
- Yes true. You would have endometriosis as another cause. I withdraw my suggestion. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 12: 10, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
- You do make an excellent point. though. In my reading, there is much overlap between Ectopic pregnancy, TFI, and PID. TFI and PID can cause EP. TFI can be caused by PID. Treatment for PID is for infectious disease. Treatment for TFI is treatment for possible infectious disease AND correction of conditions that block the tubes. The whole path of cause and effect is what is so fascinating for me at this point.
- Yes true. You would have endometriosis as another cause. I withdraw my suggestion. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 12: 10, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
You haven't read this yet since I am preparing it to insert into the PID article, but PID has a measurable effect on pregnancy outcomes. A history of PID and subsequent recurring PID results in premature births, higher than average infant mortality, sepsis and a whole host of other problems with newborns - this according to Sternak. Does this belong in a new section in the PID article?

re:thank you
No problem! Your message might have been the first thanks I've had for page patrol stuff in the 7ish years I've been here, so it made my day. It's also nice to see decent articles in the new pages log from time to time. Have you ever considered becoming autopatrolled by the way? I don't know if you qualify for it... or if its still a thing for that matter, but the more article authors who become autopatrolled, the more time it saves. Cheers, Ryan shell (talk) 19:09, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you for your thank you. I am about 20 articles short of being autopatrolled at this point. I always thought it wasn't quite 'fair' to put so much effort into patrolling new pages and getting so little 'credit' for it, really. After all, it doesn't add up to a whole lot of edits and if you really think something is suspicious, you could end up spending a good twenty minutes sniffing out a hoax, non-notable-author-created-off-wiki-fake references, and just some plain weirdness. I do what you do because new page patrolling is a pretty important thing to do and so I appreciate you giving the article your stamp of approval. The Very Best of Regards, and your new friend,

any help is gratefully accepted. This draft is a result of trying to source BLM firefighters just after the onset of WWII being drafted and being replaced by women in jobs that were seasonal fighting wildland forest fires. Many came from the She-She-She program of 33'-37'.
I need help identifing lines that appear to violate copyright, can you help?
Your article already exists I am about 99% sure that this article already exists and it is called: Civilian Conservation Corp. I am old enough to remember my parents and grandparents talking about this FDR program that it existed to stimulate the economy back in the 30s or 40s. It used to be referred to as: the CCC. I am thinking that is what you are trying to make the title sounds like. The content of your article also matches the content of this already existing article. I'm not sure how you want to proceed from here. But let me know what you want to do next. Best Regards
Think it should open for review?
I added a bunch of pictures, will probably cull, is there a method to do a gallery? Robco311 22:40, 2 April 2015 (UTC)

Lets disagree on this one. The article on the CCC, under minorities, lists a link to the She+, that says it needs to be created. In that entire article that's the only place women are mentioned.

Last bit for the article Hilda Worthington Smith
I wanted to use a statement from an interview held by the FDR Library. Can it be considered public domain and usable?
Background---- in 1937 the programs smith initiated but couldn't in 1933 call it by it's name became the W.P.A.'s Workers Education Service.--
Smith also wanted to teach “workers’ education”, a term that had a strong communist association. She related years later, “I hardly dared mention it because it was so unpopular.”
Workers'education was ... "unusual because it involved three groups virtually ignored at the time: women, blue collar workers, and blacks.." --Priscilla Van Tassel, New York Times, June 24, 1984, NJ5. (Caption for HWSmith picture) from the interview for the story in times
And what is workers' education? I think the first thing is to say what workers' education is and what it is not. I'd like to say, first, it is not vocational education. Many people think that that is what it is; it's not trade training for workers. That's entirely separate, should supplement workers' education and go along with it. But it is not the same thing. Workers' education is a specialized branch of adult education. It covers in general the economic and labor problems related to the experience of industrial workers, office workers, farmers, anything that touches the economic field. It is also and usually supplemented with much work in English, with elementary science, social psychology, with history, with a background of life in the United States. It touches: employers' problems, trade union problems, the worker in the community as citizen, the government's relation to industry and to the labor movement.
Interview with Hilda Worthington Smith, Franklin D. Roosevelt Library, Hyde Park, NY, October 17, 1963
I still have to edit it, but I feel this goes under LIFE PHILOSOPHY, what's your take on it?? --- See the Talk on the article...

Category:Infectious causes of cancer
Please review your recent additions of this category to articles which are not about pathogens or malignancies. I can see where some of the subjects might be tangentially related to the category, but they don't necessarily belong in the category. --Versageek 00:09, 15 April 2015 (UTC)
- I agree with Versageek. Please review WP:NPOV, WP:CAT and the the actual category definition for Category:Infectious causes of cancer.- MrX 01:13, 15 April 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you Versageek and MrX for taking an interest in reviewing this category and its appropriateness. It has been interesting to me that the creation of the category would even have a hint of controversy attached to it and I remain somewhat surprised. Various pathogens ranging from viruses to nematodes and flukes are strongly linked to increasing the risk of cancer in humans. Each of the articles in this category support the connection of increased cancer risk with reliable secondary and tertiary citations to reliable medical journals. This category links these diverse topics. I have reviewed WP:NPOV, WP:CAT and have not been able to find content that would call into question the existence of the category or its contents. I admit I am surprised that NPOV is an issue, since I basically insert references after summarizing contents of a journal article. My opinion on the topic is quite irrelevant - I am editing the contents of recent (within the past five years or so) medical journal articles and placing the information into the appropriate articles. You aren't the only ones that have questioned this category and its contents: WikiProject Medicine Talk page discussion on the same topic.
- Best Regards, Bfpage |leave a message 17:24, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
- It is not the creation of the category that I personally had issue with, but the articles you chose to include as "infectious causes of cancer", including Condom , Men who have sex with men and Sex education among others. The category description page states that "the articles in this category support the connection of increased cancer risk", but Condom states a decreased risk, Men who have sex with men's cancer statement is specifically about the presence of HPV, and Sex education in itself cannot possibly cause cancer. It is a reasonable category to have when applied properly. That was not the case on its creation. HalJor (talk) 22:43, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
- Similarly, adding "Pelvic inflamatory disease" as a category to Abstinence is wholly unnecessary. HalJor (talk) 22:54, 23 April 2015 (UTC)

maybe we can work on improving it together... The working title is the Pyrrhan Society and I can email it if you can't find it in my sandbox,
it's about the 'FirstBorn', women of the fire service who are the first in title to Chief, firefighter, paramedic or ems worker.

spacing problems
This is regarding your 27 March 2015 edit to Misplaced Pages:Manual of Style with edit summary: "(added spacing per MOS:HEAD for readability in the edit window)".
I'm not sure if your change from standard to optional header spacing is a good idea. It seems counter-productive, since there are automated scripts that, on occasion, check for and eliminate unnecessary spaces and blank lines. There are a few places with {{anchor}}s on lines by themselves (which don't display) which had extra blank lines added afterward, which caused extra blank line space in the display version. In section "Punctuation inside or outside", an extra visual space appeared after the header when an extra blank line was added before a <!--comment-->
line. Those are just a few of the things I noticed that need correction. Thanks for your attention to this matter.
Cheers. —Telpardec TALK 16:56, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
- I think what prompted my edit was something that I read in the documentation for the WIKIEd program instructions where the rationale for spacing correction was explained by the author. BUT if I edited something that is going to 'screw up' some scripts that are already in place and working just fine, I want to put things back to the way they were, that is for certain. I will definitely go back and make things right. Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention. Best Regards, Bfpage |leave a message 17:02, 23 April 2015 (UTC)

Hallo, This article is now up for deletion as a possible hoax, but in looking at its history I was surprised by this edit of yours. "Gotten" is American English, not current British English, and although Jersey isn't technically part of the UK I'm pretty sure they speak nearer to UK English than US English! I'd changed it back to British English before becoming more and more doubtful about the entire article, having come across it while stub-sorting. PamD 10:53, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

GA process
Hi, you asked for feedback.
First, many thanks for the review and the hard work that went into it.
Since you ask, it was a bit confusing to see so much material which I think was rather intended to guide you, not us: the person who made the tool seems to have had the focus of assisting the reviewer, whereas the nominating editors need simple corrections and suggestions - do this, fix that, add a reference here, rephrase that sentence. So perhaps next time you might keep the tool's output on a page in your sandbox, and use anything helpful it came up with in your own words to direct the review? I think that's my only comment. Hope it's taken in good faith. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 18:53, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
- Why thank you very much for the feedback. I took a look at how the other reviewers 'documented' their process and thought it was too arbitrary and and subjective. Since it was my first review, I felt that it would be in my best interest to document the process in greater detail than what I saw on other pages. But your advice is well-taken. Next time, I will create a subpage for my own use to document the process so that I don't leave any details out that are described in the instructions. Have you ever done a review?
- Yes, many: they are listed on my user page. Chiswick Chap (talk) 07:04, 6 May 2015 (UTC)
- Part of the review process did not suggest that wikilinks be assessed, but personally I feel that more wls would be helpful, especially to younger readers who may need to have more of the terms defined. Would you mind if I went in and inserted some wls? Feel free to revert those you feel are unnecessary.
- Now about the comprehensiveness of the article: I mentioned the lack of wikilinks before. But I noticed there was nothing about tree crickets. I hope I don't sound too strange when I tell you that one of the highlights of my summers here in Western Pennsylvania are the very loud sounds of tree crickets-they go at it at about 80 dB in the evening, making it difficult to even communicate to someone standing next to you. Do you have plans to trying to bring this article up to a featured article? I would be glad to help.
Thank you also for your review which was very thorough. In future I suggest you stick to the things that you feel need improving and leave out the aspects with which you are satisfied. You could consider the review as a two way process designed to improve the article and make sure it reaches a certain standard. So, you could be more specific in your comments - if you find "weasel words" you object to, for example, you could specify what and where they are.
The reason the tree crickets are not included is that they are in the family Gryllidae in a different suborder Ensifera. Chiswick Chap and I have no immediate plans to take Grasshopper to FA, but may do so sometime in the future. Personally I think the gap between a normal article and a GA is more worth while filling than the GA / FA gap, which is mostly about comprehensiveness and nit-picking. Unless you think this article is un-comprehensive in other ways, how about jointly working on the article Cricket (insect) to try to bring it to GA or further? Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:38, 6 May 2015 (UTC)
- Discussion on improving Cricket (insect) is on my talk page. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:09, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
- I will be glad to help. See you on the Cricket talk page!

- I have stopped tagging. There is no reason to continue tagging. I have read the talk page but not in the past 10 minutes. I will do so now.

- Why would you remove the Reference section? I'm trying to save your article from deletion....

- Not my article, and was most likely an edit conflict as I only intended to remove the template. Arkon (talk) 19:56, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

Recent edits to Michael Harner biography
Thank you for working on Dr. Harner's biography for a more neutral point of view. I have been meaning to reach out to you for help with this article as there is much that needs editing (like the concept of core shamanism) which I would like to propose on the Talk page. I've done quite a lot of research on Dr. Harner, core shamanism, and neoshamanism voluntarily and find there are many, more scholarly references than those I disputed on the Talk page. Also, I believe I now have secondary sources for most, if not all, of the references to the Foundation for Shamanic Studies Journal Shamanism which I believe is the issue about primary sources since these are articles written by Dr. Harner. I can provide these on the Talk page - would that be the right way to proceed? Is there a better way for us to communicate directly about this? Bashamfour (talk) 23:47, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you for getting in touch with me about helping out with this article but I could not edit from a neutral point of view, I am afraid. I am quite flattered that you perceive that I am able to edit from a neutral point of view - but on this topic, that won't be possible for me. I did, however, post a helpful search template on the talk page of the article that should help you and any other editor find additional information and sources that will help with the article. The Very Best of Regards,

Thanks for your thanks, Bfpage.... it means a lot. I'm struggling with the atmosphere over there. It's hard to get the page to reflect things that i think are very important and to make sure that edits stick. There's a team of people who seem to be motivated to reduce any exposure of the chemical industry judging by the pattern of edits. I support proper sourcing but it seems they are maximizing contentiousness according to every little guideline they can muster and using guidelines as tools for obstruction and not for the spirit in which they were intended. Have you ever seen this before on pages relating to industries with some things that they would prefer to not have so publicly visible? How do you think i ought to best proceed? - Bfpage has a history of egging on disruptive editors, as Flyer22 can attest and which Bfpage was warned about at ANI. I suggest you both be careful here. Jytdog (talk) 16:58, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
- I would like to point out that it may be uncivil of you to call Flyer22 a 'disruptive editor'. I have more respect for her than that and have never referred to her as being disruptive. She is excellent at catching vandalism and has a staggering amount of edits attributed to her account. Best Regards,

- stop editing my comment as you did here and here. i did not highlight it red, nor did i make anything bold nor underline anything (original comment is here which i have not edited since) and by doing that, you are changing it. I did not call Flyer22 a disruptive editor. Jytdog (talk) 17:34, 15 May 2015 (UTC)

- What are you all into and about Jydog ... coming on this page after he simply thanks me, "suggesting" we both "be careful" ... about what? Cause s/he thanked me for my editing? And calling me "disruptive" .... what is your issue, Jytdog? Really, this is not appropriate. Are you the police of Misplaced Pages? Sure seems like it. In my opinion, your editorship is disruptive and harmful for Misplaced Pages. I don't think you're really HERE as you put it. I'm sure you'll find a way to use this new comment of mine to cite me for something else, and build up the long list of BS on my personal talk page... I really do not think you are WP:HERE, Jytdog. I think you're THERE. SageRad (talk) 07:16, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
- Seems kind of stalk-y in itself that you would post a message here. Weird. Jeez. SageRad (talk) 07:26, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
- You have run into some editors who believe that helping the encyclopedia means to scrutinize edits to make certain that they meet the standards that they think should apply. You have made important, valuable and numerous edits that have or will help those looking for the information that you have provided. Some editors seem to thrive on contentiousness and will participate quite predictably in all sorts of discussions on whether or not other editors should be blocked or ban; you can read this in their editing history. Please don't be discouraged! You are doing a great job.

Hello. I'm wondering why you did not just move the index page to its new title?! Pages should never be moved by copy & paste because that breaks the revision history which, in turn, is required for attribution of the Creative Commons and GFDL lincences of the content. Now an administrator will have to perform a history merger which can be quite complicated and is just unnecessary work. So, for future reference, next time please use the "move" tab on top of the page. De728631 (talk) 16:09, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
- Apologies! The last thing I want to do is create work for someone else. I do not see a 'move' tab in my editing window, but I will read up on the details on how to do it correctly. I am SO sorry.
Bfpage |leave a message 16:12, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
- Don't worry. If you don't see the move tab, you might want to check your user "preferences" and change the skin for Misplaced Pages. If you're using the default Vector skin, the move option is hidden in a dropdown menu called "More" on top of the page. I have now merged the histories of the two pages so you can continue editing the new list article. De728631 (talk) 16:22, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
- What skin do you recommend? Bfpage |leave a message 16:55, 15 May 2015 (UTC)

- I reverted your edit because of the use of the word: "pro-russian" which indicates to me that you may be editing with a particular point-of-view politically. That word is not a neutral term but favors one point of view over another. Believe me when I tell you that I am no expert in politics, but I do know a loaded term when I see it. This are generally not recommended per WP:MEDMOS. But more specifically when we do have them we do not typically put terms for which there is no article. Best Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 00:33, 15 May 2015 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, I believe those are misspellings instead of non-existent articles. When I do mobile editing, am in sore need of a spell checker.
Thank you but what is this for?
Which question did I get the Misplaced Pages:Teahouse/Badge/Question for? Rubbish computer 16:07, 15 May 2015 (UTC)
- You asked a question on 5/12 about duplicate articles. This question doesn't come up all the time and I was personally interested in the answer myself. I figure if you ask a question at the Teahouse, there are probably a dozen other editors with the same question that just didn't have enough guts to ask it themselves. I appreciate the time and effort each editor puts into posting a question at the Teahouse. And I don't hand out badges just to anyone..... Best Regards,
