Current state of mind is...
Did you call me?

huh?

I just saw this edit summary, and while I don't know what you are referring to, I can't imagine you doing anything that could come close to being "horribly obnoxious", or even "kind-of obnoxious". So whoever said that about some action of yours is 1) a nut, and 2) outside the mainstream of wikipedians who have had any contact with you. So please, use your own proven good judgement about what is best and don't let the b***ards get you down. Your friend, Roger. --rogerd 02:00, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

I too came to see what this was about. I commented literally last night to someone on IRC how I valued your willingness to speak from the heart. From someone else it might sound insincere or sarcastic, but from you it's golden. Your continued good humour, kindness, and honesty do this community a service it is deeply in need of. - brenneman 03:15, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
I agree with Rogerd, this guy has to be a nut, or maybe possessed. Anyways, this talk page always has someone adding things quickly so I guess you must have missed my earlier question from yesterday, which is probably in the middle of the page by now.:P PerfectStorm 03:46, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
Hehe this IS a high traffic page! Anyway, I agree with everyone else (so why am I posting? because I like posting to this page!)... don't worry about this guy's opinions. ++Lar: t/c 13:39, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

Indigenous peoples of North America newsletter

I've done a few things toward a rough draft, but am not sure what direction we need to go with it. Have you got any suggestions? --Aaron Walden 02:08, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

Do you have a link? I'm willing to help out (copyedits and delivery) but I am too lazy to recall where it is. :) ++Lar: t/c 02:28, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
Sure, it's at Misplaced Pages:WikiProject_Indigenous_peoples_of_North_America/Newsletter. --Aaron Walden 22:04, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

I am very happy with the layout updates, and redesign of the Project Page, as well as the Portal. It's much more navigable than in the old format. As for the newsletter, I'm ready to move on to the next step, whenever everyone else is. --Aaron Walden 12:12, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Jeannette and Isabelle

Thank you for your comment! I do believe the second one is the painting inspired by the song, since there are only two girls there. From what I gather, the English title is The Newborn. I think it should be placed in the article (and picture-linked on DYK). Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 04:04, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

New DYK nomination

I noticed you really liked my Bring a Torch article, so you might also be interested in viewing an article I wrote on a distinct and memorable piece of Americana: "Winston tastes good like a cigarette should". Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 11:59, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

I like all of those sources and I would add them myself, but the reference footnote thing confuses the hell out of me, and I was wondering if you could write a bit about what each source said, and cite them into the article, so I can adjust them where I think is necessary. Thanks so much for helping me! Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 19:32, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
I liked your other two sources as well, this one and this one. All I need is the citation put in the article and I can write what needs to be done. I'm just so clueless about that sort of thing, and I know I'll mess it up! Thanks in advance. Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 19:55, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

Your opinion needed

Dear Sharon,

You don't know me, but I think I know you a little bit. I have encountered your username going through various history listings, discussions and user talk pages on WP (I know it's really impolite to read somebody else's correspondence, but I am not accused of politeness too often :p ). I must say I am really impressed with your contirbutions to Misplaced Pages, and with your unusual kindness and understanding for people. Therefore, I thought you would be the right person to ask for opinion.

I would like to ask for your opinion about an AfD I have filed (or whatever the right name for what I've done is) - Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/List of automotive flops. I have come accross this article while some external site I frequent pointed out to it as an example of why Misplaced Pages is not a reliable source of information but an arena for some internauts to try to mold reality their way. I was obviously disturbed by that and couldn't agree more with the description of this article, but not the notion of the article, and therefore thought that such an article should be removed not to compromise WP's status.

My main point is that such list is inherently POV, and therefore can't be rectified - you will find my extensive argumentation in the discussion. The AfD has faced stiff opposition from people involved with editing the article, but also some other users. I have found some edits by some of the opposing editors of this article quite POV themselves, or more specifically, not distinguishing between POV and impartial information. I am quite surprised by how different we define POV. Finally, one user left such nice message on my talk page -> User talk:Bravada#List of automotive flops AfD.

This all made me wonder if perhaps I am completely wrong in my understanding of POV and what WikiPpdia should be. Therefore, it is really important to me to find out your opinion on that, as, knowing your extensive Wiki experience, I see you as an authority in these matters. Thanks a lot in advance and sorry for the bother. Bravada, talk - 18:40, 16 July 2006 (UTC) ...

Sharon,
Thank you so much for your unbelievably prompt response! You make reading your messages absolutely delightful (and I absolutely love to be addressed as "Dear", though probably I think of it differently than you do :D ), which was perhaps another reason why I asked for you opinion I didn't realize :D
Please excuse me for what might seem as being impatient. I have just seen you got quite many messages following mine and then being aware of the "backlog" message box atop your talk page, I thought you might simply miss my message and then other issues of pressing importance would push it even further away. I was not hoping for such a prompt response, just wanted to make sure you aware of if... oh what a lame explanation! What-EVER!
Now as concerns the issue - I am happy that I am not the only one who sees the inherent POVness here, but my gripes about that go further. Namely, the definition of the term "commercial failure" is also not very clear. We can go by the definition of "not meeting sales expectations", but then many times exact manufacturers' sales predicitions are not available, and also what is sometimes proclaimed in public is either over- or understated. Then, one can argue that even a vehicle not meeting those is not a failure - e.g. all large and fuel-guzzling vehicles probably didn't meet them during the fuel crises. Would that mean they all belong on that list? (I don't mean either yes or no, I am just pointing out another point for dispute)
So I am afraid what we are going to have is extensive back-and-forth movement by enthusiasts and non-ethusiasts (how do you call the latter?) of particular vehicles, as well as incompleteness of the list, as nobody in their right mind is going to go through sales projections (which I already mentioned are hardly available) and sales results for all vehicles ever made. So, this list will be an arena for constant bickering between users and a reason to depreciate WP's usefulness as impartial source of information. Who would actually be looking for that kind of info in an encyclopedia? Should we have a "list of singers who sang particularly awful" by the same token?
I know there is no easy rule as to what belongs in WP and what does. I am just strongly feeling that it does not, as it would keep the door ajar for some even less appropriate inclusions. I am also feeling I expressed myself quite badly here, my thoughts are unfortunately mostly with my hand now, chiefly because it reminds of itself constantly. GOSH IS THIS POST A MESS. What-EVER again!
Again, thanks an unbelievable lot for your kindness and bearing with me! I wish you all the best in the new week :D Bravada, talk - 00:03, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

Re: Comanche Language

Hi Phaedriel! Don't be sorry about responding late, you can't be blamed for your popularity:P. I think it's really unfortunate (criminal really) about what has happened to your people and your language. I don't know how much you know about Canada's role with Native Americans (we prefer to call them Aboriginals or just First Nations, so as not to stress the American part of it I suppose:P), but they were awfully cruel to the people here. To assimilate them, children were put into these "residential schools", usually run by the Catholic Church or a Protestant group, and the children were beaten, and abused in all sorts horrible ways. The last one didn't close until the middle of the 90s!!! Terrible.

Many still live in "Indian Reserves", where things are really horrendous: typhus, other diseases, bad drinking water and bad housing. Canada is ranked somewhere in the top 5 or 10 in living standards in the world, but the Indian Reserves on their own would sadly rank behind at least 75-80 countries. A friend of mine actually lives in one, and he had to come to "the city" because they didn't have a high school there for him to go to. Aboriginals play a key role here, a lot more than in the US because there are a very large minority.I n my own city, 10% of 700,000 are of Aboriginal descent.

However, It is really amazing how you are able to be so kind with everyone in spite of this cruelty, I know I could never do it. You truly are an inspiration. Anyways, you have a good week too!:) PerfectStorm 03:11, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

Good article!

I thought you might be interested to know the article we worked on, "Winston tastes good like a cigarette should," has been promoted to good article status after just one day. Thanks for contributing to a job well done! Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 04:18, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

I'm thinking of starting "Us Tareyton smokers would rather fight than switch," but it wasn't as enduring as the Winston campaign, and it's already covered in small detail at the Tareyton article. What do you think? I only thought about creating it when I told my mother about the Winston article and she was like "I remember the Tareyton girls with the black eyes...rather fight than switch!" My stress

Hello Sharon. Thanks for your support over the last few days. I am feeling better now and have started writing again. I made my first trip to New articles Australia for 53 days today (quite shocking isn't it), so it feels good to be back, and with the creation of Boy Charlton, David Theile and Malcolm Champion, the redlinks on Australian Olympic medalists in Swimming are now gone. So hopefully I can get it ready for WP:FLC sometime. Have an enjoyable family trip. Many thanks again, Blnguyen | rant-line 08:10, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

I saw your note on Lord Voldemort's talk page. And while the actually updating of the template requires admin privileges, there's plenty of stuff for other people to do. My dear Sharon: we were already friends; we just haven't met before. I would be proud and honoured to be counted amongst those lucky people you have helped simply by calling them a friend. I will try to spread happiness and friendship to others in my name, but in your spirit: human beings are an interconnected web (all seven billion of us) and we serve that web by making it tighter. My web of friends are now your web of friends, and your web of friends are now mine. It's a very small thing, but together we have made the world a fraction of a percent better. That's all the world needs from everybody. And you did this. Thank you, my dear friend. Love always, ЯEDVERS 20:27, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

GA nomination

Hi. Our paths cross a 3rd time. I review articles for the Good Article project. Your Comanche article is not near the top yet, but I looked at it anyway as I'm interested in the topic. I'm trying to help, of course. Overall, it's excellent and could become an FA. But first, let's do the GA thing. Only two things leap out at me: 1) the lead, the first para is great, but the 2nd goes off on a tangent of word origin. I'd suggest moving the word origin para into history or something. Then, expand the remaining lead so it summarizes the breadth of the article. 2) while you have a great bibliography, you have no footnotes (inline citations), these are essential for FA and highly recommended for GA. If you need help, let me know. Also let me know when you're done with this and I'll look over the article again. Rlevse 01:51, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

I recall the 2nd time we met, you couldn't remember the first, well I just found this when going through my talk archive while I was looking for something else:

""Dear Rlevse, I'm embarrased about my lack of response to your message from two weeks ago. It simply slipped by my attention among another edits at my talk page, and I honestly didn't observe it until now. I see that you have already added your Undisputed (film) article to our WikiFilms project, which is great. Again, I'm sorry for not noticing your message until now, and if I can be of any help to you, please just let me know... I swear I will answer this time! =) Kisses, - Phædriel ♥ tell me - 22:03, 28 January 2006 (UTC)"" Rlevse 13:53, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Update!

Hi! Just thought I'd give you an update on my life! I've just been loading some of my favourite songs onto your song page. Quite cool! (Hope you don't mind if I'm a lemming...) I was the first one to use it! Also, I got a second article featured (Velociraptor), & I'm in the proccess of getting a third one featured (Tyrannosaurus).

In real life, it's not going quite as well. My mother is going into surgery for possible cancer & our water pipe just burst majorly. It's gonna take a whole heap to fix it & the whole garden is being ripped up. Further, we have to fix it all the way into the gutters because the council passed a law saying the home owner was responsible for it! Apart from that, & exams, everythings okay.

Would like to hear from you... Spawn Man 22:27, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

BTW, You said to put suggestions here, so I was thinking that the TOC on the page looks out of place. You should either put a space between it & the start of the song tables or delete the TOC all together... Just a thought... Thanks, Spawn Man 00:16, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Soundtrack of Wikipedians

Sharon,

I love the idea behind this page, and I'm so glad you established it. I'm happy to share my favorite music with you and everyone else who might be interested- as you said, you can often understand a person very well with just what they listen to. I was happy to see the overlap between our musical tastes (much more than the limited number of songs I put down, I assure you). :o) Anyway, just thought I'd drop you a line since we hadn't talked in a little bit. I hope everything is going great, and feel free to leave me a message whenever you like.

Thanks for your reply, dear Sharon. Time off always does a lot of good for the mood...I'm currently enjoying some time off myself as well here in Seattle, as I look for a job following my graduation from college. It's a win-win right now...if I find a job in the next month or so, I get to start my career journey, and if I still don't have anything by August 30th, I get to head back to my home sweet home of Austin, Texas. As much as I love Seattle and the wonderful summer we're having here, I often find myself missing that area of the country that we're both so fortunate to call home. Please, feel free to send me a random message any time it even comes into your mind. EWS23 (Leave me a message!) 14:33, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

In any case, keep up the great work and have a fabulous day. Grandmasterka 07:00, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Greetings from Istanbul

Hi, I encountered your page and liked it very much, as well as other things you do in Misplaced Pages. Just wanted to send my greetings from Istanbul, Turkey. Best, --Gokhan 07:23, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Hello Phaedriel, thank you so much for your warm and kind words! I really feel depressed sometimes while struggling in Misplaced Pages, I wish all people here could be like you. That's also clear from the popularity of your talk page! You really radiate positive energy and kindness, even via this huge network of cables and computers. I'm glad to meet you... I've only been in U.S. once back in 1994, visited Maryland and Virginia. I loved the country and the people.

We had a nice walk this weekend with my wife in the old city and took some pictures. Wanted to share some of them with you. Not my best but I enjoyed the time I had while taking them. So maybe a piece of that will reach U.S.??? I hope you can come to visit Istanbul and Turkey someday. Please keep in mind to inform me when you decide to do that!
I'm about to leave Istanbul for a year, for mba. Wish me luck :) --Gokhan 17:57, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

Re : Dear Mailer Diablo

Hi Sharon,

Thanks for your kind message, I really, really appreciate that! *hugs* I guess perhaps you'll have to chain me to my userpage by the end of this year, cos' I'll have to go on a 2-year conscription! ;) In any case, that's right, I'm now back to active editing on this great encyclopedia! :) - Cheers, Mailer Diablo 14:09, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Mailer Diablo has smiled at you! Smiles promote WikiLove and hopefully this one has made your day better. Spread the WikiLove by smiling to someone else, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend. Smile to others by adding {{subst:smile}}, {{subst:smile2}} or {{subst:smile3}} to their talk page with a friendly message. Happy editing!

User:Misza13's pile!

Thank you for contributing the impressive the pile of supports gathered on my RfA, which passed with a final tally of 0x0104/0x01/0x00. I'm happy that so many people have put faith in my abilities as an admin and promise to use the tools wisely and do my best not to let you down. If I ever may be of assistance, just leave a note on my talk page.
Misza13, the rouge-on-demand admin wishes you happy editing!

Dear Phaedriel, thanks for your nice message, it gave me good reason to emit a long wiki-smile - something that's all too rare around here these days. No need to blush about the compliments, Frank Rinehart is a great article with fantastic images, but the main one selected has a haunting beauty for me that evokes what must have been the sadness about the fate that befell her nation. Keep all the good stuff coming. And just FYI, Cactus.men NEVER shave ... :-) --Cactus.man 11:53, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

I also meant to say that your soundtrack project is a fantastic idea. I'll add things in the next few days hopefully, but where the Hell do I start? There's just TOO MUCH STUFF. --Cactus.man 12:02, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

Portal:Indigenous_peoples_of_North_America

Hi. I'm going to ask a wiki buddy to look at this for the more technical side of portals for you too. I think this is a good portal, love the earth tones and wide picture at top, but for FP status, here are my opinions:

  • the intro is too long, cut it and cut down the size of the intro picture
  • instead of a read more button, make the link with the bolded title in the text of sel. bio., sel. article, etc. In these same sections, make a "candidates" button where people can nominate articles for selection (my Scouting one has this feature, as do many others).
  • the space between DYK and cats is sorta big. See if you can rearrange something, like maybe make cats one column or move ToDo into that empty area
  • I'd move the map right above wikimedia, as it's so big it makes ToDo (in it's current spot) look like an afterthought
  • You may want to set up rolling content (see Scouting and War portals, click the edit button). This isn't actually a requirement as far as I know, but it often gets mentioned in FP noms. You pick an interval (I use monthly), make your supporting files, and the (in my case) 1st of every month the things like selected articles get changed automatically. This lets you pick you next interval's articles ahead of time instead of you being tied to a clock.

If you haven't already, check out the ones at Misplaced Pages:Featured_portals, such as my Scouting, War, and Food ones. Let me know anytime you list something for featured status or need help. Rlevse 12:35, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

Rlevse asked me to take a look at this, so here are some (mostly technical) things that would come up during a FP nom:
  • The "DYK" section doesn't have an archive.
  • The "Selected picture" section doesn't have a visible photo credit.
  • There's no "Major topics" section. (This might take some time to put together, but it can be quite easy if you have a navigation template of some sort to steal links from.)
  • The archive links are scattered between the left and right side of the boxes. I'm not sure which is neater aesthetically, particularly as you also have "Read more" links; but they should at least be consistent.
Auto-rotating content would be nice, as Rlevse mentioned; but it's not required so long as you're willing to keep the portal maintained by hand. Kirill Lokshin 15:28, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

Your message on my talk

My dear Sharon, I'm humbled and a bit shocked that you've been considering this idea! Running for bureaucratship isn't something I've given serious thought to, as I've been perfectly content the past year helping out with my admin buttons. While I give my deepest thanks for your kind, generous words, I'll stay with my decision against running for those extra tools. There are many dedicated, hardworking admins out there that would do a much better job as bureaucrat than I could, and the community doesn't seem to be in dire need for more, as people have pointed out in various RfB's. But again, thanks so much for your confidence and trust– which, to put it simply, mean a lot to me. :) By the way, I'll try to drop by your Soundtrack of Wikipedians page as soon as I figure out just where to start. ;) Kind regards, Sango123 15:09, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

Ugak! (you're welcome, sweetie)

Glad to hear you're doing better, and flattered by your message to me; I'm glad my advice was "useful"; I was worried I'd been a bit vain/presumptuous by sending you my own music, but what the heck, ya liked it and sounds like the prescription worked, too. This is just a quick note here, as you're deluged by repies right now I know; you can find my email through cayoosh.net/music or cayoosh.net/ (I don't post it on my Wiki page as I'm a bit of a firebrand in some arenas/topics). Gonna find you some hoedown music later on, since you liked the "medical" stuff. Music's my medicine, brought me back from the darkness; it's a gift I have an obligation to give, and it's always wonderful when other people like it, or find it helps them. Nobody can tell me magic isn't real. ("Ugak" isn't Chinook Jargon, by the way; it's a personal all-purpose expletive/interjection, ranging in meaning but, well, highly useful...the "ancient language of the trollkind", perhaps....;-0)Skookum1 19:07, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

Awesome, Amazing work Phaedriel!

Phaedriel, remember back when I first left a message on your page and said that you were one of my favourite editors? Well, as well as your never ending kindness and good cheer, all your hard work on Portal:Indigenous peoples of North America just shows how much you mean to this project. You realise that with all your work, you've made wikipedia about 5% better (which is a whole lot in terms of wikipedia. ;) There is so much to learn there, it really is one of the best portals I have ever seen (I love the orange background as well) and you, and everyone else that works there, have made it possible for people like me, and potentially millions of others, to find out so much. I know that you're a very humble and modest person, and that reading this is probably making you slightly embarrassed, but you really have done some awesome work.

Other than that, I hope that you’re well, and you're enjoying what's left of your vacation (if you're still on it). I'll talk with you soon, okay? Yours, with hugs, Thε Halo 15:48, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

to Phaedriel

Hi, Phaedriel, thanks for your considerate comments on my page and for what you said about my always being welcome. I appreciate that. It is true that my original oppose vote to (I forget the name Mithra?, was based on my impression of cliqeniness, etc. It was the way he and several others reacted that actually confirmed and cemented my oppose vote. The way they went over the edge and flipped out over one oppose when there were so many supports is just bizarre to me. (It ended by being something like 132 support votes, so why get so uptight about 1 oppose?)

I never said, btw, that you personally, or any individual, for that matter, was a member of a clique and doing clique voting. The reasons, though, for support, from most of the supporters are usually quite vague. This, in itself is strange to me.

Anyway I'm sorry if you don't like the way I vote. I have my own way of thinking and seeing a lot of things. This probably confuses plenty of people. I tend to think outside the box and am not easily influenced by the opinions of others. I do like to remain openminded, however, and have had my mind changed on certain issues, when a strong case is presented through reason. I do not get influenced through the use of pressure or force. I don't see you as doing this. I do see the reaction to that oppose vote to Mithra? as pressure and intimidation because that was what it was.

Well, again, thanks for your welcome to talk on your page. Any time you want to comment on my page you are welcome also. in freedom and justice. Shannon 14:27, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Userpage

Everything is fine. I deleted it and manually pasted the last revision at /Userpage, where my sig now points, but not my userpage or my talkpage. The reason is, if you google for my full name in qutoes, which you must have if I ever sent you an email, an old long-deleted revision from 2005 pops up in which I identify myself - Google continues to archive this stuff even once it's gone off WP, as long as something remains on the page. The only solution is deleting it entirely, replacing with a redir. My problem is law firm interviews coming up - not threatening vandals. You can't get to it in google unless you know my full name ahead of time which vandals do not. But law firms, which Google applicants all the time apparently, do not need to see my WP activity and opinions. Once Google crawls though again and clears its cache, I will probably restore the userpage to its proper location. Meanwhile, feel free to correct the link in your trophy case! And thanks for caring. :) - CrazyRussian talk/email 19:27, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Question

I have long admired your touch with redesigning userpages. I'm pretty happy with mine at the moment (although I'd welcome suggestions, and would enjoy seeing what you'd do with it if you're inclined to play), but it occurred to me today that a page that could really use a gentle, respectful touch of design work is Misplaced Pages:Deceased Wikipedians. • Happy birthday from a member of the Birthday Committee! Best wishes :), and good luck with your Rfa! Well, I felt I had to add something when I saw you on the Rfa candidates list. I said it on the Rfa, but I feel like I have to say it again...What you have done for a majority of the Wikipedians is simply amazing — spreading that wikilove. You don't need people to speak for you to show people the good, inspirational things you've done — your actions speak plainly enough, I am completely sure of that. So thank you, people like you who are full purely kind words and actions are rare. :)Mirlen 18:13, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
In honor of the waterfall of support in your RfA... Happy Birthday.

Borders

Hi Sharon. I have a question for your in your role as Master (Mistress?) of Userpage design. How do I add a flat (not grooved) border around a page? Thanks Guettardathehtmlchallenged 15:48, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

My userpage, actually. It could use a makeover anyway, but for the next 5 days I want a black border to mourn the death and destruction of the 1990 Jamaat al Muslimeen coup attempt. Thanks very much. Guettarda 16:00, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
Perfect. Thank you. Have a great birthday tomorrow, and enjoy your RFA. Guettarda 16:36, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

nothing personal

I voted neutral on your RfA. I feel guilty doing this due to the huge support as well as the fairly trivial nature of my observation. Nevertheless, I think it is important to give feedback that is honest too. May be i am destined to be labelled as a nitpicker but I hope my comments can be viewed as constructive. Good luck as an admin, this one is a slam dunk (possibly WP:200) :) And have a Happy Birthday tomorrow! David D. (Talk) 17:45, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Congratulations!!!

Your RfA will surely hit WP:200. Maybe even WP:300. By the way, I added myself to your Soundtrack of Wikipedians page. Happy birthday, too. ~ crazytales56297 -talk- 18:44, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Sorry :(

Don't worry about that oppose vote — that user often opposes RfAs, so it's not your fault per se. — Deckiller 20:45, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Sockpuppet allegations have risen — any odds that it's accurate? — Deckiller 22:15, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the message :) Below that oppose vote, someone noticed an edit parallel between that opposer and a previous blocked user. — Deckiller 22:45, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Queen!

You're a huge queen fan, eh?! Awesome; they're my second favorite band (next to Rush)! — Deckiller 22:59, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

my RfA

Thanks for your support opinion on my RfA. With a final vote of (62/0/1), my RfA passed, and I am now an Administrator. I will work hard to ensure that the tools entrusted to me will not be abused, and will wield my mop proudly. It looks like your own RfA is proceeding well. Good luck! :)
Happy editing! --Firsfron of Ronchester 23:49, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

You're one vote away from having the fifth most supported RfA of all time. Just so's you know. :) RandyWang (/review me!) 03:06, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Happy Birthday

Have a happy birthday from the Misplaced Pages Birthday committee! Am I sending this on the right day? UTC always confuses me. :) Oh, and best of luck on your RfA, not that you need it, you'll make a great and helpful admin. +Hexagon1 03:34, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks from Yanksox!

Hey RfA-candidate-that-killed-the-amount-of-supports-I-got-in-seven-days-in-12-hours-person, thanks for supporting my RfA, which registered a tally of 104/4/7. Which means...

I am now an admin!!!

I was and still am very flattered by all the kind comments that I recieved, I will also take into account the comments about how I could improve. I guarantee I will try my best to further assist Misplaced Pages with the mop. Feel free to drop in and say hi or if you need anything. Again, thank you so much! Yanksox 04:05, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

I fixed those stats. Apparently, you're a RfA-candidate-that-killed-the-amount-of-supports-I-got-in-seven-days-in-two-person, when in reality you hit 100 supports in eleven hours :D --Draicone 08:05, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
Ok, go ahead, rub it in. :P Yanksox 08:08, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Many happy returns and enjoy the day! And, much good luck on your RfA, although I'm quite sure that you'll be a wonderful admin when the RfA ends (no if's needed :-))! Thistheman 04:35, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Happy Birthday!!!

Happy Birthday, dear Sharon. I actually waited until midnight CDT on the 29th. ;o) I hope it's a great one. I know people will give you more than enough sweets, so I thought I'd give you a beautiful Texas Bluebonnet from my home state. Take care, and enjoy the weekend to the fullest. :o) Hugs, EWS23 (Leave me a message!) 05:13, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Happy Birthday, too!

Before your birthday is over (in my time zone; it's already over in yours), here's a "H*A*P*P*Y B*I*R*T*H*D*A*Y. I'd wanted to dig you up a funny pic/e-card but it's been a hectic day; hoedown music coming, once I pick the tracks. Did you go dancing today? (I hope so; it's what birthdays are for...).Skookum1 06:45, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Backlog of birthday wishes :)

Hi Phaedriel, All the way from mine to the recent wishes by other birthday committee members and beyond, you're clearly going to get a lot of birthday wishes. How about we create User talk:Phaedriel/Happy birthday! and put them all there so that we don't add to your talk page backlog :) --Draicone 08:14, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Help

Phaedriel, could you please make my ugly userpage look better? Thanks. Kitia 16:07, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Well tickle me whiskers!

I'm not too bad, all the better for hearing from me favourite American! Yeah, I think it needs sorting - that would be really kind of you, ta, mutchly! Big Hugs Back!. Lion King 16:38, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Lar tells me...

That my co-nomming of your RfA is not authorized and you're too nice to remove it. So I'll be polite and remove it. 1ne 21:46, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Belated all the way around

Happy birthday! Sorry I'm late for that and for the RFA. (Pity it's going so badly...185 pro votes is entirely too few.) Geogre 01:13, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

Moody

Congrats on your RFA, as I only just found out about it. Also congrats on your Birthday, for which I date I have no idea. I'm just a bit moody cause you're gonna be an admin after only a short while, & here I am 3 FA's later & just cause I'm a grumpy editor, I get nothing. You deserve your nomination, but I just don't think I'll become one cause I'm such a grump around here. If I got nominated, there'd be all my history of grumpiness brought up. I don't know why I'm telling you all this. As I said, I guess I'm just a grump. Spawn Man 01:24, 30 July 2006 (UTC). :(

Happy Birthday West Pacific style

  • Ok, its finally your birthday out on the far fringes of the Pacific. (OK, it has been for a while now, but I've been busy). Therefore, as the sun sets on your birthday, I hope it has been a fun-filled occasion, and I wish you many more such days of joy for the future. Johntex\ 02:02, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

Image questions from your RfA

Hello, I'm checking into some image tags and I have a recommendation:

  • Image:OklahomaCityPolice.jpg I think should be tagged as {{fairusein}} for the Oklahoma City Police Department article. Photos of 2 dimensional works can be used under fair use. You would want to specify the name of the article and write out the fair use justification on the image page. Also, I think you need to remove it from your gallery or linkimage it there. Fair use images are not allowed in the User space. (I've had to remove several from my own gallery). Johntex\ 02:32, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

Happy late birthday!

Wow, I am late. But it's still July 29 here in California! (And in Oklahoma as I write this, anyway). And so…hmmm, what is there to give you? Snopake gave you gingerbread, a rock, etc., but—I know! I can sure give you a hug! (And many more…) ;) So then, many hugs from Cliff, and more to come tomorrow since tomorrow is my birthday! The one and only Cliff 03:25, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

Amazing User Page

Hey, Happy Birthday! Thanks for all your contributions, really helpful when i want to 'immerse myself in knowledge'. Nice user page too! TheCyrus

Several things

Hello Phaedrial: First thing, happy birthday! And also, congratulations on your overwhelming support for the post of administrator. While I don't feel quite qualified to participate in it, being away from Misplaced Pages so long, I wish you good luck in whatever tasks you may encounter in the future with your forthcoming mop.

I had one quick comment about something I spotted on your user page, specifically your list of "Being Indian in the XXI". While I can't comment on the majority of the list, not having experienced or being knowledgeable about most of those matters, I do wish to point out one little theological point. You say:

It is having a Christian missionary tell you it is wrong to believe in more than one Divine Being, then listen to him tell you about God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost, the Virgin Mary, St. Joseph, St. Patrick, St. Christopher, St. Francis, etc.

In the Catholic tradition (where the various saints come from), there is only one Divine Being, that being God. Jesus Christ is also said to be the same God, being one of the Three Persons in One Nature. The Virgin Mary is not said to be a Divine Being, but rather a created being, as are the saints and (in fact) the rest of creation. So, if a Christian missionary was speaking of God and the other characters, he would still only be speaking of one Divine Being, and other created beings.

Peace, Bratsche 05:31, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

All the best!

Hello Sharon. I became so engrossed in the "party' that I even forgot the wikipedia on 29th July, and missed wishing you. I wish you a very happy birthday and all the best! Backlog? I am free to be your secretary. --Bhadani 11:51, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
