Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here.
    Shortcuts

Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

List of bones of the human skeleton

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Repeated vandalism from multiple IP editors over months High visibility article with high chance to have recurrent vandalism. Tom (LT) (talk) 06:13, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

List of Power Rangers Dino Charge characters

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – An IP hopping vandal keeps adding disruptive material to this page. OuendanL (talk) 07:26, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

Modern liberalism in the United States

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Anonymous user(s) changing "American" to "the United States" even where it makes little grammatical sense and changes quotations. clpo13(talk) 08:32, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

    KSI

    Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. clpo13(talk) 08:41, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

    University

Semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – IP-hopper repeatedly changing from one variety of English to another without prior discussion (there's no established version of English used in the article, it's about a universal topic, both UK English and American English have been used since the first real "non-stub" version of the article, with about equal share in the article for both varieties, and only one or two words are changed, so the article is no more consistent after the change than before, making it purely disruptive). It's an IP-hopper who does nothing on Misplaced Pages but promoting US English on multiple articles and claiming that just about everything is American or an American invention, whether it is or not... Thomas.W 08:43, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

The IP-hopper has also repeatedly added the "Use American English" tag on the talk page, without prior discussion, to increase the disruption. Since it's a talk page I'm not requesting protection for it, I just wanted to mention it to illustrate the (deliberate) disruption they're causing... Thomas.W 14:05, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

    Misplaced Pages:Stub

Full protection for a few days, to stop repeat revertwarring to reinstate pointless, confusing wording that multiple editors object to on the talk page, and which no one has provided any rationale for, even after a month of discussion being open. WP:BRD (which is optional anyway) has already been satisfied.  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ⱷ҅ⱷ≼  08:59, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

Declined Both editors have been warned. If the issue persists, the accounts will be blocked. Mike VTalk 18:45, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

    Iris (American band)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – An anonymous user using different IP addresses is constantly adding incorrect information on Iris (American band), Reagan Jones, and Andrew Sega, even after being warned on her user talk page not to do so. These pages have been vandalized in a similar fashion weeks before (the admin had made a 24 hour protection), so I request the protection to remain a little bit longer this time. --Λeternus 10:33, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

    Battle of Basantar

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing. ArghyaIndian (talk) 12:58, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

    Chris Kyle

Semi-protection: Repeated IP vandalism. Subject of article (deceased) is in news following a US military records release to newsmedia showing that aspects of his published autobiography were deliberately embellished. IP addresses, presumably fans of subject of article, have been trying to remove reference to the news reports and trying to reinsert the incorrectly embellished numbers into the article section on his military service. Likely to continue for a few days given news reporting and relative popularity of subject (autobiography was on bestseller lists, had a movie made from it). Prostetnic Vogon Jeltz (talk) 13:29, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

    No Man's Sky

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Request temporary protection. Article has been an IP vandal target before due to attention to game. A recent rumor has come out about the game's release date and already seeing edits to include that speculation. Would appreciate a week or two of semi to avoid disruption until this matter is settled. MASEM (t) 14:01, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

    2016–17 Premier League

    Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Unsourced speculation. Qed237 (talk) 14:14, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

    Van Halen

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Persistent IP-hopping vandal that removes sourced content. Tired of reverting & explaining #dontdothat. Shearonink (talk) 14:33, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

Could some admin please take a look at the edit history on this article? That IP-hopping vandal is still at it. Shearonink (talk) 23:24, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

    Ankit Love

Indefinite full protection: Continuous agenda to delete and vandalise sourced information with blatant false claims that content is not sourced to mislead future editors. Suppression by deletion of reliable sourced information based on prejudice seems to be a result of nationalism in relation to the ongoing armed Kashmir conflict and United Nations dispute. This is a highly sensitive article of a political and historical nature that evokes strong feelings and needs thorough investigation and protection from experienced admins.

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – An anon is IP-hopping to harass a registered user using edit summaries on this page. Ogress 22:28, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

Just noticed this (I'm the user the IP has been stalking and harassing; see incident report for context) - sorry to file a duplicate report. Funcrunch (talk) 23:31, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

    Atlas Comics (1950s)

Temporary semi-protection: An anon IP is persistently edit-warring to include a non-standard footnoting format that is highly inconsistent with many other footnotes to the same database, and with the formatting used throughout WikiProject Comics. I have warned the IP against edit-warring and asked for discussion per WP:BRD, but he refuses. --Tenebrae (talk) 22:33, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

    Misplaced Pages:Sock puppetry

Temporary full protection: Content dispute/edit warring – There's been edit-warring a lot here lately, which is unacceptable on any page, let alone a policy page. Please fully protect this for a bit to encourage talk page discussion. ~ Rob 23:07, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

    Appetite for Destruction

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Persistent IP-hopping vandal has been removing sourced content from this article and from Van Halen over the past few days. Shearonink (talk) 23:26, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

They're still at it. Thanks for taking a look at this article & at Van Halen - they're persistently removing sourced content from these two articles. Shearonink (talk) 00:48, 27 May 2016 (UTC)

    Troy Ave

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Persistent vandalism by a lot of users. I did not warn them for two reasons: in the hope that they will abstain from vandalism and that there are just too many users to warn. Peter Sam Fan 00:13, 27 May 2016 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level

    Shortcuts

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

    • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
    • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
    • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
    • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.

Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Current requests for edits to a protected page

Further information: Misplaced Pages:Edit requests Shortcut

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

    • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
    • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Misplaced Pages:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
    • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Misplaced Pages:Requested moves, not here.
    • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
    • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.
