Theme song and opening sequence

The theme music for Hank Parker's Outdoor Magazine was composed and performed by William A. Landers. The theme music is known for its using the "do, do, do, do, do, do" parts, and ending with Landers singing "The house needs painting, grass needs mowing, where's he at?...He's gone fishing!". The closing version of the theme song had the same "do, do, do, do, do, do" parts, and ending with Landers singing "The house needs painting, grass needs mowing", followed by Landers asking "where's he at?", and ending with him singing "Gone...fishing!". The original opening sequence consisted of Parker getting up early in the morning to go fishing at 5:30 AM, which features him walking out of his house, driving a pickup truck, a shot of a motorboat, an exterior shot of the house, an answering machine, and finally, a silhouette of Parker fishing in the morning before the sun comes up. At the end, a still image of Parker himself appears with the show's logo on it. And then, it opens up like a book to reveal a still drawing of Parker himself with his signature on it, which is also used when the show goes into and comes out of commercial breaks. And then, it flips over to see their tournaments in a Korinna font, followed by the show's logo again.

Closing sequence

The original closing sequence began with the camera zooming out on the sky to see a landscape, and then, it zooms out to see a silhouette of Parker himself as the credits rolled with the text reading "A PARKER/RUNNELS PRODUCTION" at the end, and it shows Parker riding his motorboat, driving a pickup truck, a closeup shot of the wheel when Parker gets out, and it shows Parker walking into his house, a shot of the answering machine, and finally, a motorboat moving. At the end, it closes like a book to reveal the title card, and it shows the Parker/Runnels Productions logo, with the copyright date in roman numerals appear.
