Seka Aleksić

Svetlana "Seka" Aleksić (Serbian Cyrillic: Светлана "Сека" Алексић) is a Serbian turbo folk singer popular in the former Yugoslav republics.

Biography

Seka Aleksić was born on April 23, 1981 in Srpska Varos (Nova Varos), a small place near Zvornik, Bosnia-Herzegovina, then Yugoslavia, to a Gypsie mother Ibrima and Serbian father Milorad Aleksić. She has a younger brother, Necko. Her parents later divorced due to her father's alcohol problems and she started living with her mother. When the war broke out, Seka and her family moved to Banja Koviljača, Serbia and later Šabac. She started singing Ceca's songs in cafés before she went famous. Seka also has an important role in the Serbian movie "We Are Not Angels 3." The role first went to Croatian singer Severina but she dropped out due to scheduling conflicts. She currently resides in Sremska Mitrovica together with her fiancé, manager/producer Zoran Kovačević and their Chihuahua Cezar. In July 2005, a short clip of 56 seconds showing her and her fiancé Zoran engaging in a sexual intercourse was circulated over the internet.
