The area sits between Beaverton and Hillsboro, Oregon. Generally considered to be south of US 26, north of Walker Road, west of 158th, and east of Cornelius Pass Road. The area is a regional shopping hub that includes the Tanasbourne Towne Center, Tanasbourne Village, and The Streets of Tanasbourne. Is the former home of the now defunct Tanasbourne Mall.
Besides shopping centers, Tanasbourne is home to large apartment complexes, industrial/commercial parks, and many medical facilities.
Most of the community is in Hillsboro, and that city maintains a library and police station in the vicinity. Hillsboro is in the process of planning a major redevelopment of the area.
