Some articles about pneumonia as the old man's friend, allowing the frail and slowly painfully dying to slip away comparatively quickly and easily make the case that if someone would rather not continue suffering (or has not specified, but those close think they would prefer this) that the pneumonina should not be treated (with antibiotics), but rather the uncomfortable symptoms.
