Sorry, but we need to follow the dates Mesoamerican chronology - which the article didn't do even before you changed it. Doug Weller talk 16:52, 28 October 2020 (UTC)

Information icon Hello, I'm Donald Albury. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Crystal River Archaeological State Park, List of pre-Columbian cultures, and Maya city have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse. Thanks.Template:Z186 Donald Albury 19:30, 27 March 2021 (UTC)

I need your help!

Hi. You want to help? Can you revert this edit here?: Hel (album) Thanks.--Filmomusico (talk) 06:17, 2 April 2021 (UTC)

@Filmomusico: Why are you asking other editors to intervene on your behalf, especially after you claimed you would follow my advice? Did you think if they reverted me I wouldn't notice? I explained my edit to you, and my edits is abiding by guidelines and template recommendations whereas yours disregards them, particularly MOS:ACCESS. Don't try and ask another editor to do this again. Ss112 06:26, 2 April 2021 (UTC)

Important message

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in pseudoscience and fringe science. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Misplaced Pages's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

I don’t believe in pseudoscience or fringe science. I believe in real science, and I’m passionate about real science. Why would I ever believe in pseudoscience? Epictrex (talk) 04:42, 2 April 2021 (UTC)

I warned you about adding fringe theories to Misplaced Pages without providing reliable sources, and that I doubted you could find any source regarded as reliable by the Misplaced Pages community that supported the idea that the Mayan civilization had any connection to prehistoric cultures in Florida, when I responded to your question at the Teahouse, here. You had added, without providing any source, that the Mayan civilization was present in Florida in Crystal River Archaeological State Park here, List of pre-Columbian cultures here, and Maya city here. Others have also warned you about adding controversial statements to articles without providing reliable sources for them, yet you did it again today in History of Florida here.
If you again try to add any statement about Mayan influence on or connection to prehistoric cultures in Florida (or the Southeastern United States) in any article without first gaining consensus on the article's talk page that you have provided reliable sources for said statement and that adding said statement to the article would not give undue weight to said statement, I will request that an appropriate sanction be applied on you. - Donald Albury 17:17, 2 April 2021 (UTC)

I won’t say anything else about the Mayans in the southeastern US, but man, you need to learn some respect. You’re not nice, and don’t threaten me with a sanction. Also, that I did that damn edit yesterday not today. Epictrex (talk) 00:14, 3 April 2021 (UTC)

Some advice. "Mayans in Florida" is considered WP:FRINGE, because no mainstream academic archaeologists or historians have found evidence for it or support it. If I had seen that edit I would have reverted it. If you add such claims into articles, it had better be well sourced to mainstream academic articles. Not including adequate sources for edits like that violates multiple policies here, including WP:FRINGE, WP:CITE, WP:VERIFY, and WP:UNDUE. Adding unsourced fringe material is not considered harmless. If you find sources you believe would work, bring them to an articles talkpage to ask about inclusion, or take the source to WP:RSN to ask if the source is reliable enough to be used on Misplaced Pages. The user above did not threaten you, and they were being perfectly respectful. They were informing you what would happen next if you continue with these actions. That's how things work here. Your edits were reverted, you were asked not to keep repeating this behavior. The next step will be to ask for admin intervention. Sanctions include the admins blocking your account from editing, in order to protect the encyclopedia from behavior that is detrimental to the project, like inserting unsourced fringe material.
Most of us here are very willing to help you out and work with you as you learn how to edit here. Donald Albury is an admin here of longstanding and with an excellent reputation. He is also very knowledgeable of this particular subject matter. If he advises you to stop doing something, I would give it some serious thought before disregarding it. Heiro 00:49, 3 April 2021 (UTC)
I didn’t disregard it. Do you guys even read my replies? I said I wouldn’t do it again! Next time read what I said before you falsely accuse me of disregarding what he said! Epictrex (talk) 00:51, 3 April 2021 (UTC)
I did read them. I also read your comments at the teahouse about this situation. I'm trying to help you, so can we please dial it down a notch? I did not accuse you of anything, I advised you to listen to what D Albury was saying to you, because not only are they very knowledgeable in this subject matter but also at editing Misplaced Pages. Heiro 00:58, 3 April 2021 (UTC)

Yes, I did listen to what he said and I won’t add anything about the Mayans in the southeastern United States again. And yes, I’m sorry for my choice in words, and getting a bit frustrated. Also, I’m not trying to undermine Donald Albury’s knowledge or expertise.Epictrex (talk) 01:08, 3 April 2021 (UTC)

My apologies Donald Albury about my edits about the Mayans in Florida and the southeastern United States. Epictrex (talk) 05:39, 3 April 2021 (UTC)

Thanks

Thank you for self-reverting the comments you left on my talk page. - Donald Albury 13:59, 3 April 2021 (UTC)
