Gopichand Kundalik Padalkar (born 1982) is an Indian politician belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party. He born in poor Dhangar family of Padalkarwadi, Dist. sangali. His father was a primary teacher. He started his career in 2006. From the starting of his political journey he has always worked for the people whose political vibrancy is very less. He has always worked for people for whom political representation is equal to nothing. He is member of Maharashtra Legislative Council. He got elected to the Legislative Council by MLA's (unopposed) on 14 May 2020, along with 9 others. previously he was in Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi, he joined BJP before 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Elections.
Political career
Padalkar belongs to Dhangar community from Maharashtra, He started his political career on 6th December, 2006 from Rashtriya Samaj Paksh under the inspiration of Mahadev Jankar. He contested Maharashtra Assembly election in 2009 from Rashtriya Samaj Paksh and got 20,000 votes. In 2012 he joined Bhartiya Janata Party and contested 2014 assembly election from BJP from Atpadi-Khanapur constituency. On 1st August he came through some differences on Dhangar community reservation with BJP and left the party. In March 2019 he joined Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi and contested Sangali Loksabha seat. He gave tough fight to Sanjay Patil and Vishal Patil by getting 3,00,234 votes. He had taken a swearing of god Biroba that he will not vote BJP if the party does not take action on Dhangar reservation while leaving the party in October 2018. After that he joined BJP back in October 2019 when BJP submitted in court that Dhangar and Dhangad is a same caste. he unsuccessfully contested Lok Sabha Elections from Sangli in 2019 on Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi ticket, later he joined BJP and contested Vidhan Sabha elections from Baramati against Ajit Pawar, he contested from Baramati constituency in 2019 against and gave a tough fight in only 15 days after declaring his nomination. In 2020 along with 9 others he got elected to Maharashtra Legislative Council by BJP.
