Todo is a religious, and sometimes political, entity, and also the book which guides the people in the group. As of January 1, 2005, there were five hundred million Todos in the world, making it one of the largest religious society ever. It is the official religion of the Domain of the Misplaced Pages.

Religion

Todoism is the religion that unites all the Todos around the world. It is based in the Independency of Civitnus.

Organization

The structure of the administration of the religion is elaborate and complex. The administration of the Todos are carried out by the Religious Council of Todoism and the Governing Council of Todoism. Both are distinct and separate entities, though they work close together. The RCT works with spiritual and religion-related affairs, while the GCT heads the organization for the structure for their religion.

The Todus

The Todos are ruled by a leader, officially called The Todus. However, most Indo-European language speakers call him The Todo. The Todus has the responsibility of representing the people of Todoism and voting yea or nay to approve any transactions or laws to be passed.

The Bishops

There are three bishops. They are the Bishops of Idium, Maleda, and Benvis. All three has their respective area in Todoism and are not to interfere with each other's powers. The Todus is sometimes called the fourth bishop, called the Bishop of Pridis.

The Priests

In the local level, there are hundreds of thousands of priests working for each bishop. For that reason, the all temples have three priests; no more, no less. The priests carry out the most basic parts of religious obligations. They give the sermons, discuss with the people, and collect the monthly taxes. Since the Todos go to temple for six days of a week, each priest heads the worship for two days in a week.

Beliefs

Todos believe that there are two gods, Malistult and Benextir. Malistult is served by the Bishop of Maleda and the Bishop of Benvis prays to Benextir. The Bishop of Idium helps and advises The Todus with Earthly matters, rather.

In the legends of the Todos, it states that Benextir and Malistult fought before the beginning of time, but after the beginning of the universe. Benextir is said to have wielded a million angels, which was countered by the million demons of Malistult. In this case, since the event took place after the world, or the Sumve, came into being, it is possible to uncover the site of the battle.

Benextir and Malistult made a truce; they will stop the fight until the Last Days of the Sumve. Then they established a rule: "The Last Days are nigh should the Creations seek only one side of the Truth." They also decided that if one of the god's followers outnumber the other by at least two to one, the Creation will be considered to be seeking only one side. The Councils of Todo was founded by their Creation to help themselves extend their time in the Sumve and enjoy its delights.

The legend also states that the Sumve will certainly end, as each god is free to draw their Creations away from the other to multiply his followers. The legend does not state when the Last Days will come, nor does it state what fate will await the victor and the loser.

Book

The Book of Todo is the collection of the laws of the Todos. There are three sections in the book. Rather than being book of tales, stories, and morals, The Book of Todo is actually a set of laws for the Creation.

The first section is The Book of Benvis, which was written by the prophet Benvis, the messenger of Benextir. It recorded his laws for the Creation and the Sumve. The second section is The Book of Maleda, recorded by the prophet Maleda, the messenger of Malistult, with his view of the laws for the Creation and the Sumve.

The third is The Book of Idium. This book is interesting, because it was one devised by the Creations themselves. It is also one that can be amended through referenda. The book is updated every ten years.

Nation

The Kingdom of Todo was a country separate from the Religious Council of Todoism. It was founded when the Governing Council of Todoism seceded from the RCT due to a disagreement about The Book of Idium. The book, traditionally seen as the buffer zone between Benextir and Malistult, was often fought over between the Benvites and the Maledites.

The GCT thought that it was against the treaty to amend any parts to support one over the other. The RCT, to please its critics, said such an amendment was possible as long as an equal time was given to the other. Displeased with the announcement, the two councils separated, and the GCT became the Kingdom of Todo.

Basically same as the RCT, the Kingdom moved its base to the Independency of Civimet. However, instead of The Todus, they had a king. The power to elect The Todus was given only to the RCT from the beginning.

The Kingdom flourished under their kings. However, a united Todo gained support from both sides. After one hundred years, talks began and a compromise was reached. Within ten years, Todo became one again.
