I don't know. I'm not completely confident. I suppose you could put it in a book or on a postcard and sell the book or postcard. But, see below, it's quite unlikely that the image is still under copyright, being probably made in the 19th century and taken from some historical archive. It never had any kind of "market role". It was presumably either a family portrait or made by the CSA Army or something.
I'm describing it as "not free" because I'm not 100% stone sure that it is. Just being on the safe side. |
Other information | The subject of the photograph has been deceased since: 1889 Yes, it's probably not under copyright since it was very likely made before 1889 (it could be a later drawing taken from a photograph tho). It was uploaded to Find-A-Grave by one JM Herman: https://www.findagrave.com/user/profile/47972443. I assume he dug it out some archive somewhere. |
