Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here.
    Shortcuts

Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

    Estonia (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

This page has been ridiculed from an anonymous user. Request semi-protection. Valhalla guardian 15:49, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Declined for now - the page has only been vandalized by one user. Please make another request if it continues. I'll keep an eye on it and if he/she continues from other IP addresses, I will s-protect it. --BigDT 16:04, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
Slight update: there seems to have been a brief spree by the range 80.176.254.65/71 (see 65,66,67,68,69,70,71). It seems to have stopped for now, though if it resumes, we may need to block this range for a little bit. --BigDT 16:18, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

    Belize (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Request immediate semi-protection. This page is continously being vandalized by an anon user with multiple IPs.--Thomas.macmillan 16:39, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

    Semi-protected --BigDT 16:51, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

    Current requests for unprotection

    Shortcuts

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

    • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
    • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
    • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
    • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.

Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

    Wireless From AT&T (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

We discussed and voted upon this in Talk:Wireless From AT&T#Vote on fixing article (2007-01-22), the consensus - well, with one objection - was for the article to be moved to Cingular Wireless and then immediately re-move-protected. (If possible, if an admin could just rename the article without taking off protection, then that would be ideal.) Squiggleslash 01:12, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Okay, page has been moved to Cingular Wireless. Also, please help with fixing double redirects. Thanks, Nishkid64 01:23, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

    Barrington Hall (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

There's currently a proposal for going forward with editing this article here and it seems to have consensus support, although there is one editor with vocal objections. I'd like to request unprotecting the article so we may make the edits proposed. The main fix that needs to be made is removing a questionable blog that many editors have agreed fails the criteria at WP:RS. I suspect the dissenting editor may revert war over it (and may receive support from another editor who has taken her side in previous editing). If this editor revert wars, I'd like to request that the admins keep a close eye on the article, but allow editing to take place and run it's course - I feel that the solution to revert warring (if it does happen) is not to lock the article right away but to allow the dissenting editor or editors to exhaust their 3RR's and stop reverting at that point (leaving the consensus version). I'd be happy to address any additional concerns admins may have before unprotecting. Thanks. --Milo H Minderbinder 16:10, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

There is no consensus at this article, a refusal to discuss from the above requester --who stated a a few minues ago that discussion shouldn't be "dignified with a resonse"-- and unprotection will result in an immediate edit war, I'm afraid.-Cindery 16:18, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
Unprotected. Giving unprotection a try, will keep a good eye on it. -- Steel 16:26, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Please reprotect--the "opposing" editors are deleting things they don't even object to they are so overheated.-Cindery 17:04, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

I'd like to point out that Cindery is already up to three reverts on this article (and she was reverting three different editors). --Milo H Minderbinder 17:17, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
I'd like to point out that Milo et al have never contributed anything to this article, and Milo is thanking people on the talkpage for reverting, and that I've been forced to correct deletions which aren't even contested.-Cindery 17:21, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Current requests for significant edits to a protected page

    Shortcut

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

    • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
    • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Misplaced Pages:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
    • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Misplaced Pages:Requested moves, not here.
    • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
    • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

    Fulfilled/denied requests

    Gangsta (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protection - Semi-protection worked in the past, but after unprotection, the Vandalism returned. Numerous IP's, a couple of times a week, due to Controversial nature of the article.

There is not enough recent activity to justify protection at this time. Just watchlist and revert any vandalism. Nishkid64 15:32, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

    Goa Inquisition (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Full-protection- After the previous bout of protection ended, people simply replaced serious, inflammatory and unverified hate allegations that they had not been able to provide any valid attribution for in the discussion. Xandar 13:07, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

There is not enough recent activity to justify protection at this time. For now, be sure to use descriptive edit summaries and discuss edits on talk. Nishkid64 15:30, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

    Bill Nye (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protection- After the previous bout of semi-protection ended, vandalism started back up. --Releeshan 11:22, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Nishkid64 15:28, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

    Cran (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protection. Good lord & butter... I thought I'd never have to ask this for a disambig page! Over 100 revisions/vandalisms since 21 January (last 72 hours)! SkierRMH 08:44, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Comment It looks like the work of a single, misguided editor. Gzkn 08:55, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
Declined Agreed. If the user keeps on disrupting, he/she can be blocked. --Robdurbar 13:59, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Ecma Office Open XML (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX media and release information (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protect. As with the last case of protection, there has been a resurgence of Bobabobabo sockpuppets in the past few days. Semi-protection needed once again to alleviate problems more decisively, and for a longer period this time (maybe even permanent semi-protection) to deal with this more effectively. --Benten 04:54, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

There is not enough recent activity to justify protection at this time. Just watchlist and revert any vandalism. Voice-of-All 05:01, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

    Template:Srlink (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

This template is only used on a few pages, but one of those is the (presumably very popular) Misplaced Pages article. All the other templates used by that article are protected (or "semi-protected" at least) so this one probably should be as well – Qxz 04:52, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

There is not enough recent activity to justify protection at this time. Just watchlist and revert any vandalism. Voice-of-All 05:00, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

History of the name Azerbaijan (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Full protection - edit war Nareklm 21:15, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Unprotection. Only 2 rv's were made, user Azerbaijani made 3 and removed referenced material, indicating on talk page. Further behaviour will result in more major complaints. Misplaced Pages is supposed to be a source of unbiased learning, not of single-sided propaganda. Atabek 21:36, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
Fully protected due to revert warring. Nishkid64 21:16, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
Unprotection. Only two rv's from original were made. Please, add back the referenced material in previous rev. ASAP before this turns into broader scale dispute. First read the material that was referenced. Atabek 21:38, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
RFPP is not a vote process. I protected the page at the current version because that was the version I saw it as. Per Misplaced Pages policy, I am not allowed to revert to a different version until the dispute has resolved at the talk page. Don't make allegations against Misplaced Pages just because you disagree with the content of the article. Nishkid64 21:58, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
And please avoid using icons unless you are completing a request (which only a sysop can do). Voice-of-All 04:55, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Infinity on High (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protection requested. Completely removing protection was too extreme. The page already has received one IP spam edit, and is bound to get more due to the current leak and upcoming release. Semi-protection would be a wise choice to keep for about a months time. --Russ is the sex 05:28, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Declined - There is not enough recent activity to justify protection at this time. Just watchlist and revert any vandalism. Really, comeback when there is some vandalism, and protection will be placed. Cheers! —— Eagle 101 05:41, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
Semi-protection second request. There has now been more spam and vandalism. I have spotted it from the following users: Chris12coan (added a non existent bonus track), 72.90.178.28 (removed information about a track), 125.238.5.82 (added link to a page that doesn't exist). This was all today. I can only assume that it will escalate. Please semi-protect. --Russ is the sex 04:10, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
    Semi-protected due to heavy vandalism. Nishkid64 15:31, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Landover Baptist Church (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-Protect Check the edit history, vandals keep deleting the section about the LBC's views and instead place a copy of the text from a page on OBJECTIVE: Christian Ministries. Jsonitsac 23:03, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Bethpage High School (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protect - The high school page gets alot of vandalism from students. Previous problems include- gloryfication of sports, changing principals names, changing of school statistics, and many others. Semi-protecting would allow for edits to be made effectively of new items but not let the page turn into trash.

There is not enough recent activity to justify protection at this time. Just watchlist and revert any vandalism. Nishkid64 21:06, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Semi-protect. The article is the subject of Misplaced Pages:AMA Requests for Assistance/Requests/January 2007/Quixada due to repeated spam edits by a dynamic IP. Attempts at negotiation have failed. Attempts to moderate the spam contents have failed. The contents keep being inserted by a variety of linked but distinct IPs.
