This is a neutral notice sent to all non-bot/non-blocked registered users who edited Misplaced Pages talk:WikiProject Linguistics in the past year that there is a new request for comment at Misplaced Pages talk:WikiProject Linguistics § RfC: Where should so-called voiceless approximants be covered?. There is currently a discussion at Misplaced Pages:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you.

Suggestions for improving links
Catchpoke, I can see that you want to improve Misplaced Pages, and we welcome improvements. Although links via redirects should generally be left alone, we do have one category which should usually be bypassed: links to redirects from misspellings. If an article links to Antartic, it should usually be corrected to Antarctic. (Such redirects are normally tagged with {{R from misspelling}}.)
There are similar ways in which you could help which may be equally rewarding. One is to look at links to disambiguation pages. These are generally wrong. For example, a careless editor may have linked to Mercury when they intended a piped link to Mercury (planet) or Mercury (element). WikiProject Disambiguation would be happy to help you get started. Alternatively, you could look at links which lead to the wrong article, perhaps because it has a confusingly similar name. For example, some editors seem to think that iPhones are sold by Apple but, as that article is about a fruit, a piped link to Apple Inc. would be better. Again, guidance is available, this time from WikiProject Bluelink patrol. There are other ways to contribute, and I hope that you will find some that suit your tastes. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Canadians. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. — Shibbolethink 20:34, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
Please stop attacking other editors. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. "Go see a psychiatrist" is not an acceptable response to a comment you dislike. — Shibbolethink 20:50, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
Indefinite block
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for too many personal attacks coupled with little awareness (still) of there being too many personal attacks. If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page:{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
