Team Seas, stylized as #TeamSeas, is a massive project created by the YouTube community by MrBeast and Mark Rober as a follow up to #TeamTrees helping to clean up polluted beaches, rivers, lakes, and other bodies of water. Their goal is to remove 30 million pounds of trash by the end of 2021. Half of the donation goes to Ocean Conservancy and the other half goes to The Ocean Cleanup and UN which gived the task to clean the seas and the rivers respectively
Background
After the success of Team Tress, Mark Rober and MrBeast wanted to do a similar project, this time addressing trash in the ocean and on the beaches. MrBeast would tweet out on February 13, 2020 that if he reached 30 million subscribers, he would launch a similar project where he removes 30 million pounds of trash from the ocean.
Responses
On October 29, 2021, MrBeast and Mark Rober traveled to the Dominican Republic to help clean up several beaches in the area, as well as help underserved communities dispose of their trash without throwing it into the rivers that lead to the ocean. Many YouTubers also joined in on the movement.
