TingMing (Nationalist?)
TingMing (talk · contribs) has been making global searching-and-unifying edits all following his own opinion (without proper discussion with other editors) and the Naming Conventions, which as I have pointed out in WP:ANI#Global search and replace and edit warring by User:TingMing the Political NPOV part has been tagged by not one but two POV-disputed tags. I'm positive that he is downright Nationalist himself, although 1) UserCheck only came out with the result possible and 2) he himself is denying it and translating the result of "possible" to be the proof of him not being a sockpuppet. As the reason I feel the need to bring this to your attention, although you may choose not to take any action concerning this issue of which you are already tired. Thanks, Vic226 19:22, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not quite sure what this diff by TingMing implies, but it sounds like he is trying to get others into the edit war or something. I don't want to assume bad faith without basis, though, so I want to ask you what you think about this diff. Thanks, Vic226 06:07, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
Let's take the easy way; I'm rather tired of his consistent disruption in Misplaced Pages. I prefer to see what the ArbCom has to say about this first, since TingMing—assuming he's Nationalist—is the only known active sockpuppet for now. What I'm worried about is the lack of involvement from other people in the Arb. case. Vic226 02:40, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
If TingMing (talk · contribs) isn't the User:Nationalist, he sure is a nationalist, and one that seems to call the pre-Lee Teng-hui era home. I mean - wow. I respect the guy's fervor, but man... --Folic Acid 13:45, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
Weird - This guy showed up yesterday and immediately started making edits to Taiwan-related articles. It doesn't look as bad as Ting/Nationalist yet, but it is a little suspicious. --Folic Acid 12:04, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
- I'll let you handle DoctorPP. What about this guy? Seems he's been active before, but has just popped up in the past day again. A tracert reveals the IP is one in Taiwan somewhere - it belongs to Chunghwa Telecom. --Folic Acid 17:32, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
V-Tech protection
Hi Loren, I think we got our edits crossed somewhere and we protected the article at the same time - that's not a problem, but I protected for a bit longer than you. If you wish, you can undo my protection. Cheers, – Riana 05:44, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
- OK, thanks for the response :) – Riana 05:49, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
Misplaced Pages:Requests for arbitration/TingMing
Hello,
An Arbitration case in which you commented has been opened: Misplaced Pages:Requests for arbitration/TingMing. Please add any evidence you may wish the arbitrators to consider to the evidence sub-page, Misplaced Pages:Requests for arbitration/TingMing/Evidence. You may also contribute to the case on the workshop sub-page, Misplaced Pages:Requests for arbitration/TingMing/Workshop.
On behalf of the Arbitration Committee, - Penwhale | 14:29, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
- I'm sorry. I'm not familiar with how this "ArbCom" works. I saw the evidences that you and Vic226 provided, and I'm trying to find more as well. However, I don't know what to do other than finding the evidence.--Jerrypp772000 23:50, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
- Actually Ideogram requested it. I can't really find enough evidence other than the evidence you and Vic provided, Vic provided a lot. I would like to help with proposing enforcements and such, but I don't know how to.--Jerrypp772000 00:03, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
Apparently there isn't enough involvement in the arbitration case, and the ArbCom might as well get bored and motion to close before anything is solved. I don't know. I know some people like User:Borgarde and User:Yankees76 who had records of activities against Nationalist and his socks, but they are pretty much detached from it by now. Since TingMing can be either a sockpuppet or not as the RFCU says, I don't feel that asking for their participation would help since their knowledge about TingMing may be very limited. Any ideas? Vic226 06:11, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
- TingMing is adding comments to Misplaced Pages:Requests for arbitration/TingMing/Evidence, I've moved them to the talk page, but TingMing keeps adding comments on the evidence page. I just want to make sure that I'm doing the right thing (moving his comments to the talk page). Am I?--Jerrypp772000 00:27, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
- Alright, thanks anyways.--Jerrypp772000 00:38, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
Stop trying to summon support from the most random people that I have never even dealt with. This is simply absurd. I have done nothing wrong and am pushing the mere current de facto status that the Republic of China is the government of Taiwan Province. What is so wrong about that? I dont give beans if it offends any TIer. They have to live with life. TingMing 00:40, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
- My objection lies in your behavior, not your personal viewpoints to which you are entitled. There are plenty of editors who have been here for much longer than you with viewpoints spanning the political spectrum who have coexisted and worked together to improve and compromise. Till now, I have seen nothing come from you except a complete refusal to recognise the validity of other POVs differing from your own in articles, personal attacks, and vitrol against anyone who suggests that you reconsider your behavior. Seeking input from other users was a courtesy to you, as I already have more than sufficient evidence to warrent a block against you as a sockpuppet of Nationalist, who has a long history of attempting to evade CUs through IP manipulation. Before you start another tirade against how I'm another rouge admin of the TI cabal perhaps you should consider the fact that I've actually been more lenient towards you as opposed to other POV pushing sockpuppets in the past (who held POVs diametrically opposed to yours). In conclusion, perhaps you should reflect on your own behavior before you start accusing people of oppressing you because of your POV. 'Cause you're hardly the only person to come up with that one. -Loren 00:54, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
Loren36. I strongly agree with your explaination with regards of the article. No offence TingMing, but this article strongly needs other improvements other than just changing its location "on a political note". For a long time, I have seen nothing but no vaild improvements on the entire basis of the article. There are indeed, many areas in which others can do as a community. As you can see, I have tried to do some cleaning up especially on grammartical errors and etc. Now this is the kind of editing that I wish to see. Practically everybody knows that Taipei 101 is located in Taiwan, so in this sense, it doesn't have to be changed or re-done again and again. That's not the way it is. Believe me, you can possibly help in other aspects and areas of the article. There's more to be done in the areas of the article, it is in fact a great article for users who are in the areas, of; Architectural Studies and wish to use it for, rather than just adjusting its location alone. For me, my objection lies in what you did.
Someformofhuman 03:15, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for locking the Taipei 101 article
Hi, Thanks for your effort to do that. I find it has been going on for ages and I know that is not the Misplaced Pages Way of editing. I find it slanderous to the public.
Also, I have been finding the Wiki code for page locking for a long time, ever since the argument has started. I guess the admins only have the ability to that I suppose? Anyway, I wanted to also do a Report Article to the admins about this dispute. Since it has been done by you, then I think its not needed. Somehow, I wish to help out adminstrative work someday in Misplaced Pages, or at least have a rank.
Try to write me back if you can on my Talk Page. I can see you're a pretty busy person, and that's fine.
Thanks.
Someformofhuman 06:04, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
Hi, Thanks for your feedback! I like your explaination, neat and clear and at the same time humourous. I hope everything gets sorted out ASAP!

Temp-blocking TingMing
Thanks for doing that. I can appreciate that he has a different (and strongly-held) POV on Taiwan, but it seems that his POV comes across a little too strong in his edits. Let me know if I can help/add anything to the overall discussion about naming conventions. So far, I think you've got it right - keep up the good work. --Folic Acid 02:00, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
- I agree. Though I was expecting ArbCom to act on this first, his refusals to follow the Misplaced Pages standards has gone way too far for a long time and needs to be restrained. I really appreciate your decision to execute my proposed injunction even though ArbCom has said nothing about it yet. Vic226 05:07, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
- OMG, look at this. I think TingMing hates John Smith's like way to much.--Jerrypp772000 00:24, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
List of Taiwanese People
I notice you had some objections over the (*) on Mainlanders on the List of Taiwanese people page. I thought I would change it to a designation of place of birth, but I am getting some resistence. Feel free to expand on your earlier objection.Maowang 04:12, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Vandal Revert
You got to the vandalism this time around here before my slow computer could process it. Maybe it is because it is late, but your edit comment when you fixed it here actually made me crack up. Thanks for both your vigilence and humour. Komdori 04:38, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
Undoing a TingMing move
Loren, could you undo TingMing (talk · contribs)'s (undiscussed) move of Nanking Massacre to Rape of Nanking? I can't seem to do it. Thanks! --Folic Acid 12:28, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
Please read carefully
About the comment you left on my talk page....You said that I labeled people as pro communist and pro green. You also linked me to a source where I supposedly did that. You should go read that source first. I never called any editor a Communist or pro-green in that source. I was talking about Mingshe which is a TV network if you did not know. I guess you arent familiar with ROC-Taiwan. Stop trying to accuse me of doing what I did not do. That seriously offends me and hurts me. You are not being civil at all by doing that. TingMing 02:31, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- On the contrary I am quite farmiliar with FTV, as well as TVBS, CTS, CTV, TTV and all those. My point still stands. You have a way of automatically dismissing editors, sources, or POVs you dislike as not conforming to the Truth, and thus unworthy of inclusion. I thank you for your reminder to be civil and hope for your sake that you start taking your own advice soon. -Loren 02:52, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- Do you understand that I did not call Jerry a pro-green editor in that remark that u cited to me. That is my point ok. Because your comment was a bit random. TingMing 03:34, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- The link referred to dismissing sources as biased without providing a counterexample. I can see now how you might have misinterpreted the point of the link, thank you for clarifying your statement. -Loren 03:38, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
You wrote it as though I had just called Jerry a pan-green. I called FTV a pan-green news channel, NOT jerry. TingMing 03:39, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
Time to move
The memorial has been officially renamed, so could you please move Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall to "National Taiwan Democracy Memorial Hall"? I added a news source on the article if you need to see some evidence of the ceremony. John Smith's 11:15, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- Hey Loren, TingMing insists on replacing Taiwan Democracy Memorial Hall with CKS Memorial Hall despite the fact that I provided sources. I don't know what to do to get him/her to discuss without reverting his edits. What should I do?--Jerry 00:36, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
When will the Taipei 101 Article be unlocked?
Hi, correct me if I am wrong, but has any progress been made about the POV discussions of Taipei 101 location dispute? I went into the discussion page, and the last comment date was quite sometime back. Has the dispute been solved, or still going on? (If it was still on, then maybe it was in a different discussion page I guess) Since I didn't see any progress, I thought maybe the article can be unlocked?
Let me know ASAP, Thanks!

Sorry to bother you, but would you mind taking a look at the article on Lee Huan? I've just written it, and I was hoping to have a bit of a peer review on it. Thanks very much! --Folic Acid 16:41, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
re:RfAr
I have to say this: I should have recused from the case from the get go, being an editor originally born in Taiwan. (I didn't because I don't edit those articles, being pretty jaded by the current government located in Taiwan) If you want the ArbCom case to proceed, you need to flag them down (or add another workshop request), as I do not have any ability to make the case proceed itself. :P - Penwhale | 03:47, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
- The case is currently in voting, but that doesn't mean that arbitrators will ignore new evidence/suggestions. If you have something to say, bring it up! :P - Penwhale | 08:15, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

- TingMing is not a sock for the last time. Why can't you just accept that I am not Nationalist? You cant just blame everything on Nationalist. Thats just stupid. TingMing 21:18, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
- :) Looks like you said almost exactly what I said. --Folic Acid 21:55, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
- I am not Nationalist for the last and five hundred millionith time. Everyone has been saying for months (this includes you) that I am THE Nationalist. So blame everything on Nationalist. Blame TingMing on Nationalist. Ting Ming is Nationalist...etc. You get the point. You guys are all wrong and mistaken. Check user has not proved that I am Nationalist, yet people keep accusing me. That is unfair to me, TingMing. I suggest you re-evaluate what you guys are doing to me. There is a group that continually gangs up on me. Is this how Misplaced Pages works?TingMing 22:09, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Just went to checkuser and User:Navality is a confirmed sockpuppet of TingMing Momusufan 15:15, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
Adposition
I think the usage of adposition before the term Republic of China or Taiwan should be standardized. I believe in should never be placed before ROC because ROC is not a geographical location, and should instead be placed before Taiwan. Of on the other hand should be used before either Taiwan or ROC depends on the usage. Due to my limited English-speaking ability, I would appreciate if you would reword the idea and add it to the conventions or address it on the talkpage. Thanks.--Jerry 14:39, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
- Can you take a look at the naming conventions for Chinese? They became disputed recently.--Jerry 17:06, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
- Take a look at this. I don't think he is Nationalist, but I can't stand this anymore. This user had obviously went through the new conventions so this edit is just pure retarded.--Jerry 19:32, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
- I was undoing this controversial undiscussed edit from User:Jerrypp772000. He is making many controversial edits to Taiwan/ROC articles. LionheartX

Fair use rationale for Image:ROCN fast attack boats.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:ROCN fast attack boats.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Misplaced Pages constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ricky81682 (talk) 05:08, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:Rocn knox class.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Rocn knox class.jpg. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Misplaced Pages articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. John Smith's (talk) 22:16, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

This article has come under review for Good article reassessment as part of GA Sweeps and a number of problems have been identified which are listed on the talk page. Please begin to address these points in the next seven days or the article will be delisted from GA and will have to go through the GAN process all over again to regain its status once improvements have been made. If you have any questions, please drop me a line.--Jackyd101 (talk) 14:22, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Roca.gif)
Thanks for uploading Image:Roca.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Misplaced Pages under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Misplaced Pages (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:30, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

CALL TO REFORM: Misplaced Pages:Naming conventions (Chinese), ---4--- Names of groups
CALL TO REFORM: Misplaced Pages:Naming conventions (Chinese), ---4--- Names of groups
My point is that the linguistics box should include the romanizations appliable to the correspondent chinese characters, both in simplified and traditional chinese... For instance, in the ROC, we can see IN THE LINGUISTICS BOX both the simplified and the traditional form, and the appliable transliterations: In the country infobox we only see the traditional variant, CAUSE THATS THE OFFICIAL ONE THERE... DPP has its own linguistics box and its own political party box, where we only see the traditional variant, the same applies to some newspapers, TV channels... and so on...
Im interested in such a move, cause there is no a clear standard.. just today another contributor suggested to undo my reform of the "KMT" page, cause i added a lingustics infobox, with wiktionary links, and erased the simplified fomr FROM THE POLITICAL INFOBOX, where it shouldn't be... If we add simplified to the political party infobox, we should add simplified too to the ROC country infobox, where its not the official script, and well, that makes no sense...
I dunno if I should ask for support, or just unilaterally declare it a new policy... If somebody created that infobox, well, y dont we use it? Gumuhua (talk) 17:33, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
If we just use the appliable characters to inform, well, I dont understand why somebody decided to create the chinese characters wiktionary...
So, can I just go to the guidelines and add what I consider right? Cause I was expecting for something like an open debate... but urs is the 1st message regarding the question I receive, and I have sent at least 6 copies to other taiwan project contributors... it seems nobody cares...
U r an editor.. please, explain to me the difference between a regular or common contributor (me), and an editor... thx...
So, what should I do if ppl keep deleting the wiktionary links, or adding simplified characters in a non linguistics infobox of a taiwan related article, where simplified has no legal status? Gumuhua (talk) 21:47, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
Hello there again... just now I read ur answer... I appreciate that u try to give me the most inclusive answer possible... So, according to ur experience, how much time is it needed to reach a consensus? Gumuhua (talk) 16:38, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
- Hi again... can I send the same message to various contributors, instead of copying and pasting?Gumuhua (talk) 16:19, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
I need ur help:
Hello there (yes, me again):
Would u mind to help me to move the article "Cihu" to "Cihu Presidential Burial Place"?
I have tried, but the "Cihu Presidential Burial Place" page already exists (as a redirect), and it seems the discussion page has to move together with the article...
My grounds: Cihu is the village located nearby, and its not the same as the spot. The spot is located around Cihu, nothing in the "Cihu Presidential Burial Place" says much about the village (well, it says nothing). Should't the article be named after the official name of the spot? CheersGumuhua (talk) 18:29, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
How do i report another contributor for vandalism?
Please, explain how can I do that... Gumuhua (talk) 23:19, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
