What's the world coming too? Where is the freedom for expression? What have wikipedians become to, cant i have the right to maintain my page? wait till i go over to yours.
This is my page. Damn you elitist wikipedians.
- I don't usually engage vandals, but:
- Misplaced Pages is not a place for freedom of expression. It is an online encyclopedia to which everyone may contribute, provided they abide by policies and make good-faith attempts to contribute productively. It is hosted on privately owned servers, therefore there is no legal obligation for us to provide such space in the interests of freedom of expression.
- Yes, policy states that you may remove warnings (but also that doing so is equivalent to having read them). However, I consider any attempt to remove a warning while vandalism is in progress or immediately thereafter to be an attempt to evade the almost-inevitable block, and the removal of a block notice afterwards to be an attempt to conceal past misconduct (it won't work since it remains in the block log) in anticipation of future such misconduct.
- Also see WP:OWN. You still don't own your user talk page, even if there are lesser strictures about what you can and can't delete from it. I am less inclined to respect this privilege with regard to anon users, who already have fewer editing privileges than registered users.
- As a practical matter too, you don't really "own" this user talk page if such a thing were permissible. SingNet, the ISP in question does, and the IP could (and often is) eventually be assigned to someone else. Since it is an IP and not a registered account, it could also easily be edited by anyone with physical access to the computer in question. That can sometimes include lots of people. Therefore we should take greater care with how it is used. That's why I restored the {{whois}}
- Promising to vandalize my user page forfeits any assumption of good faith and indicates intent to edit disruptively in the future.
- For all these reasons, I feel completely justified in not only blocking this account but in semi-protecting this talk page. Daniel Case (talk) 17:33, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- Daniel Case- he did not 'promise to vandalize' your user page. Your assumption is in violation of Misplaced Pages policy which requires you to assume good faith. Fix yourself. When he wrote, 'wait til I visit your page', I FIRSTLY took it to mean that he would engage you in written discussion on your page about your God-complex tendencies that you so aptly display here on his page. For you to twist his simple phrase into some mythical 'threat' to 'vandalize' your page tends to indicate that the desire to vandalize might be in your own mind-set. Please assume good faith in the future, Daniel Case. If you have a question whether you may be exagerating reality to justify your ourageous conduct, consult with an experienced Misplaced Pages admin before actually posting. Welcome to Misplaced Pages. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Misplaced Pages, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Latin profanity, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Mlouns (talk) 16:45, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make any unconstructive edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant warnings.
Please do not add nonsense to Misplaced Pages, as you did to the Talk:Australia page. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Deli nk (talk) 16:47, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you vandalize Misplaced Pages, as you did to Talk:Australia, you will be blocked from editing. Mlouns (talk) 16:48, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make any unconstructive edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant warnings.
I protest. Why can't be the Australian Discussion Page be more Australian? It obviously belongs there!
Blocked from editing
You have been blocked from editing for violating Misplaced Pages policy. If you believe this block is unjustified you may contest this block by replying here on your talk page by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}}. You may also email the blocking administrator or any administrator from this list instead, or mail unblock-en-l@mail.wikimedia.org. Daniel Case (talk) 16:59, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
What's the world coming too? Where is the freedom for expression?
Due to your admitted use of another account, I have extended the length of your block to 48 hours for violating WP:SOCK. Daniel Case (talk) 17:43, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
And the protection has been extended as well. Daniel Case (talk) 17:44, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
OK, now we're up to 72 hours on both protection and block. You would have been better off just sitting your block out. Daniel Case (talk) 17:50, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
Misplaced Pages
Yes, you do maintain the freedom of expression yet, Misplaced Pages reserves the right ,as a website, to keep it how ever it likes. Removal of warnings just proves that you have seen them and acknowledge that you have done what you have warned of. May I suggest creating an account? Thank you. DarkZorro 17:22, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
You did, and it got blocked.71.135.60.99 (talk) 01:35, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
