Vermont State University (VSU) is a future public university to be located in the state of Vermont. The University will be a merger of Castleton University, Northern Vermont University (NVU), and Vermont Technical College(VTC). The decision to form the new university was made by the Board of Trustees of the Vermont State College Station. Announced on September 29 of 2021, the merger is set to launch on July 1 of 2023.

As a result of the merger, the university is expected to inherit 5 residential campuses. These campuses will be located in Johnson, Lyndon, Castleton, Williston, and Randolph. The university will also inherit 8 satellite sites, courtesy of VTC. These sites are located in Bennington, Brattleborough, Berlin, Middlebury, New Port, St. Albans, Rutland, and White River Junction.
