If you really wanted to be non-racist you would use a neutral term like “Southern heritage”; the Confederacy was founded on slavery and inherently racist, so this box is just thinly veiled whitewashing and should be deleted as inflammatory. Dronebogus (talk) 09:58, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. As the nominator pointed out, there are neutral and acceptable ways for people in the Southern US to underline how proud they are of their ancestry (for instance, by using these two userboxes – Template:User Southern and Template:User Southern2). The nominated userbox is purely intended to be pro-Confederate, and therefore it is far from being acceptable. —Sundostund (talk) 11:56, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
- Speedy Keep: the nominator has proven to be ignorant of actual history and just wants to be childish.--King Bedford I 13:54, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
- Personal attacks are not going to change the fact that the Confederacy was racist. Dronebogus (talk) 20:49, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
- Facts are that it wasn't. I suggest not skipping history class. King Bedford I 23:35, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
