Antonella Barba was born on November 26, 1986 and is a student at The Catholic University of America and a contestant on the American Idol (season 6)|sixth season]] of American Idol. She is a member of the class of 2008 and studying architecture. Antonella's MySpace features a background of her American Idol picture and her song of Don't Wanna Miss A Thing by Aerosmith Barba is from Point Pleasant, New Jersey, and she went to high school at Red Bank Catholic High School in nearby Red Bank, New Jersey.

She auditioned with her best friend, Amanda Coluccio, also a CUA student, who was cut in the last round before the Final 24 were chosen. She was in the group auditions with Baylie Brown and Amanda Coluccio. Baylie was the only one cut from the group. Antonella was disappointed when Coluccio did not make the cut for the top 40. Antonella performed Don't Wanna Miss A Thing by Aerosmith on February 21 as the fifth of the top 12 female contestants.
