- No deadline! Thank you! Take your time. The articles are small: Maude Jacques and Cindy Ouellet. I sometimes forget that not all Canadians can speak English very well. But these two can. In fact, Maude was translating for me in Beijing. I tried auto-translating one once, but they delete unless the French is perfect, and mine's terrible. Hawkeye7 (talk) 08:17, 25 November 2015 (UTC)

Game hint lines
I came across an article in GamePro about live game counselors and 900 hint lines which has one or two useful pieces of info. The trouble is, I can't seem to find an article on Misplaced Pages where such information might appropriately go. Any suggestions?--Martin IIIa (talk) 20:34, 30 May 2017 (UTC)
- There's probably enough coverage to convert Nintendo Power Line into a broader concept of Video Game hint lines, of which the most famous was the Nintendo Power Line: Kotaku, A.V. Club, the line was revived for the NES Mini launch (Engadget, CNet, Polygon), Wikia (unusable as a source but can be used as a base for research), featured in The Wizard, that time when one number was bought by an sex company (N4G, NBC, Wired), Gamasutra, Felicia Day biography, Geek.com, Sierra Hint Line (this is an archive of 1989 Sierra Magazine), Sega, Konami also had their own Hint Lines. ☺ · Salvidrim! · ✉ 20:55, 30 May 2017 (UTC)

- Consensus has been reached to delete all books in the book namespace. There was rough consensus that the deleted books should still be available on request at WP:REFUND even after the namespace is removed.
- An RfC is open to discuss the next steps following a trial which automatically applied pending changes to TFAs.
- IP addresses of unregistered users are to be hidden from everyone. There is a rough draft of how IP addresses may be shown to users who need to see them. This currently details allowing administrators, checkusers, stewards and those with a new usergroup to view the full IP address of unregistered users. Editors with at least 500 edits and an account over a year old will be able to see all but the end of the IP address in the proposal. The ability to see the IP addresses hidden behind the mask would be dependent on agreeing to not share the parts of the IP address they can see with those who do not have access to the same information. Accessing part of or the full IP address of a masked editor would also be logged. Comments on the draft are being welcomed at the talk page.
- The community authorised COVID-19 general sanctions have been superseded by the COVID-19 discretionary sanctions following a motion at a case request. Alerts given and sanctions placed under the community authorised general sanctions are now considered alerts for and sanctions under the new discretionary sanctions.

I'm trying to help you
But these problems frustrate me, and that people refuse to think about what I'm saying is even more frustrating. I'm not asking you to take my word for anything. Just read what I have to say and think. I want things to get better. I'm tired of things being so terrible. DesertPipeline (talk) 10:52, 10 July 2021 (UTC)
- I've read what you said. I understand your point about the risks of using non-libre software. My point is that you are hurting yourself trying to fight a tiny battle when the entire war has been lost a decade ago. Privacy is dead. Everybody carries a surveillance device everywhere, every word you say or type, everywhere you go, all of your data is stored on countless servers. That's how the world goes. Putting disclaimers on stuff will not effect even the tiniest bit of change. The only truly private place is inside your brain (for now). So enjoy the privacy of your thoughts while you still can. Ben · Salvidrim! ✉ 11:03, 10 July 2021 (UTC)
- Believing that certainly helps them, but it doesn't help you. If there really is no way to save ourselves from the oncoming destruction, then at least we can die trying. If you do nothing, you will automatically fail. If you try, there's a chance of success. Even the lowest possibility of succeeding is better than no possibility at all. - Following a discussion at the Village Pump, there is consensus to treat discord logs the same as IRC logs. This means that discord logs will be oversighted if posted onwiki.
- DiscussionTools has superseded Enterprisey's reply-link script. Editors may switch using the "Discussion tools" checkbox under Preferences → Beta features.
- A motion has standardised the 500/30 (extended confirmed) restrictions placed by the Arbitration Committee. The standardised restriction is now listed in the Arbitration Committee's procedures.
- Following the closure of the Iranian politics case, standard discretionary sanctions are authorized for all edits about, and all pages related to, post-1978 Iranian politics, broadly construed.
- The Arbitration Committee encourages uninvolved administrators to use the discretionary sanctions procedure in topic areas where it is authorised to facilitate consensus in RfCs. This includes, but is not limited to, enforcing sectioned comments, word/diff limits and moratoriums on a particular topic from being brought in an RfC for up to a year.
- Editors have approved expanding the trial of Growth Features from 2% of new accounts to 25%, and the share of newcomers getting mentorship from 2% to 5%. Experienced editors are invited to add themselves to the mentor list.

Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add |

Vinesauce draft + unsalt request
Hello Salvidrim!, I wanted to ask you about a draft I've been working on. I've seen your responses in AfDs with other YouTube gaming personalities like JonTron and TotalBiscuit and felt it was pertinent to ask you about this, seeing as how it's another case of an internet personality's notability.
I was wondering if you could check out this draft of Vinesauce. The draft had been declined multiple times last year due to a lack of notability; editors kept adding either unsourced material or poorly sourced information leading it to be rejected. For the record, this was what it looked liked before I fixed the draft with new RSs. These past few weeks I've been rewriting the draft with much better sources, mostly from WP:VG/RS and I wanted to ask if you could make an unofficial review/read of it. If you want to see the best sources in the draft, check refs #2 (Uproxx), #5 (Kotaku), #16 (GamesRadar), and #20 (Vice News). I think there should be enough sources for the group to pass WP:GNG and WP:WEB, but what are your thoughts?
Also, since you're an administrator, may you please unsalt the Vinesauce title if you do find them notable enough? This way submitting it via AfC would be much easier. The original admin who salted it doesn't have admin privileges anymore, so I figured messaging someone who edits gaming pages would be apt at doing this. I feel this is appropriate given that more secondary sources do exist for them beyond the ones in the draft, enough to establish their notability.
Thanks, PantheonRadiance (talk) 06:00, 8 May 2022 (UTC)
- I also haven't been an admin for a couple of years now. As for the draft, there's some nice SIGCOV but most of the references are not about Vinesauce as a group or about Vinny specifically, so that might put a damper on things. Ben · Salvidrim! ✉ 10:34, 8 May 2022 (UTC)
- Oh, my apologies then. And yes, that was honestly one concern I also had as well; there wasn't a secondary source I could find yet solely based on their history like the Game Grumps. I figured that focusing on how outlets described their videos would be enough to suffice per WP:WEB. Anyways, thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it.
