Kovilpatti State Assembly constituency (Template:Lang-ta) is one of the 234 state legislative assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu in southern India. It is also one of the 6 state legislative assembly constituencies included in the Thoothukkudi Lok Sabha constituency. It is one of the oldest assembly segments in Tamil Nadu since Independence.
The Devendra Kula Vellalar community is the biggest community in this constituency with around 30% population.
The population of other communities are: Maravar 25%, Naidu 23% and Nadar 15%.
Reddy and Pillaimar are also living in considerable number.
In the 2021 election, the Kamma Naidu candiadte of AIADMK party Mr. Kadambur Raju defeated the Kallar candidate of AMMK
It is said that Kadambur Raju won with the help of his Naidu community and Devendra Kula Vellar communities.
Maravars backed T.T.V Dhinakaran of Kallar community under the Mukkulathor banner.
