Questions:

Have you read the AMA FAQ?

  • Answer: Yes

How would you describe the nature of this dispute? (policy violation, content dispute, personal attack, other)

  • Answer: Appeal to ArbCom for modification of the language "The ban may be renewed for additional years by any 3 administrators after its expiration..."

What methods of Dispute Resolution have you tried so far? If you can, please provide wikilinks so that the Advocate looking over this case can see what you have done.

  • Answer: Served my 12 month ban (will expire Dec. 23, 2006)

What do you expect to get from Advocacy?

  • Answer: Assistance in convincing ArbCom to grant a limited reopening of the case and modification of remedies.

Summary:

As per discussions at Wikien-1 , I seek a limited review of the remedies and hopefully gain a "time served" result with no probationary restrictions. I seek no punitive remedies against other users. I think this result can be achieved without thrashing too much into what I regarded primarily as a Content Dispute which, unfortunately became personal and resulted in my banning.

Followup:

When the case is finished, please take a minute to fill out the following survey:

Did you find the Advocacy process useful?

  • Answer: Yes, very.

Did your Advocate handle your case in an appropriate manner?

  • Answer: Extremely well. Neigel is much more informed about Misplaced Pages's internal processes and precedents than I ever hope to be.

On a scale of 1 (worst) to 5 (best), how polite was your Advocate?

  • Answer: 5 star rating.

On a scale of 1 to 5, how effective do you feel your Advocate was in solving the problem?

  • Answer: 5. We were able to accomplished much of what I set out to do. I wish I followed all his advice.

On a scale of 1 to 5, how effective do you feel the Advocacy process is altogether?

  • Answer: 5. Without help, many of users would be out twisting in the wind.

If there were one thing that you would like to see different in the Advocacy process, what would it be?

  • Answer: The idea of a bar association to assist before ArbCom is insightful.

If you were to deal with this dispute again, what would you do differently, if anything?

  • Answer: Get drunk and forget it.
