• we need to see the original box when the article already has a non-free image of the box because ... ? I cannot think of a reason that holds any weight. Any differences between this and the lead image can be described with text alone. • Non-free image from Associated Press showing a politician and a poster with a written message, used as a top decoration in an article about this politician's views. There's no relevant information contained in this information that can not be conveyed with text. • Keep This image does not affect the AP's ability to sell the larger image, which, in hindsight, was not appropriate for wikipedia and was deleted (by me). This is a small, low resolution image that still captures MA at the conference that sparked the controversy. The article in question is the one that specifically discusses this politician's views as expressed at the conference depicted in the image, which is why I believe fair use is appropriate. -- Avi (talk) 16:06, 17 December 2009 (UTC)

But how does the image enhance understanding of those views? I dont see how this cannot be replaced by "Ahmadinejad spoke at the World without Zionism Conference". I dont dispute that under US law fair-use could be claimed for this image, but one of the first questions in WP:NFCC is Could the subject be adequately conveyed by text without using the non-free content at all?. I dont see how the answer to that question could be no. nableezy - 17:24, 17 December 2009 (UTC)

The very fact that The Guardian used this same low resolution version for their article disproves your theory that there are not commercial opportunities for this version of the image. --Damiens.rf 18:53, 17 December 2009 (UTC)

• Delete - I see that this could be adequately replaced with text alone as stated by Nableezy. If you walk through the Getty images/Associated press pricing structure you will find that they do tend to sell images of this resolution for editorial use. • The subject of this picture is a living person presently serving a long prison sentence. Since the current image dates from 1998, subsequent to the subject being incarcerated, I presume that it would be possible for a free replacement image to be created. • Keep: I disagree. As X-Raided has been serving a lengthy prison sentence since 1992, it is highly unlikely that any images of him proven to be free could be found.
