FYROM or Republic of Macedonia
After extensive edit warring, article protection, and the statement of the extended version supporting side regarding both the name of the article, and the intro paragraph, a poll has been placed. The brief version supporting side is to keep the name of the article AND the intro paragraph free of the UN name (FYROM). Keep in mind that you can select more than one of the options (8! to the moment) that may suit you. Please participate in the vote and ask other editors you know to do so too. Increased participation can make the outcome of the vote as NPOV as possible. NikoSilver 16:46, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

Arvanitic
Hi, regarding this edit. How can you know something like that. There is no source confirming it, and it is highly unlikely. How many Arvanite villagers do you know who know what an ausbausprache is? Also, Arvanitic is a language on the Albanian branch on the Indo European language family. Either way, ausbauspache or not, it is still a form of Albanian, unless you are claiming that Arvanites view it as a language isolate. Please consider reverting yourself or rewording it so as to make clear that what the Arvanites resent is being associated with the Albanians, and that this means that they dislike their language being called Albanian, not that there are any linguistic implications, because this is absurd and impossible to prove. Thanks. --Telex 17:39, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
- You said it yourself, Rexhep. The Arvanite villagers couldn't care less about their language's genetic classification. Their rejection of the term "Albanian" is purely a question of identity and implies nothing about Arvanitic's relationship to Albanian, which is undoubtedly close.--Theathenae 17:41, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
- Rexhep? Yes, be that as it may, there is no source saying that Arvanitic is not Albanian. Why not use the wording of the 1995 report: although the community loathes its use. I've made a few edits, tell me what you think. --Telex 17:45, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
- BTW do you have any idea if the term "Macedonia" was ever used officially in Ottoman times. There's a big gap on that at the article Macedonia (terminology). --Telex 17:55, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
- Μην ξανακάνεις επαναφορά στο Aromanians, υποθέτω ξέρεις γιατί. Αυτός ο Greier δεν σταματάει ποτέ. Έχουν υπάρξει προβλήματα με αυτόν στο Vlachs of Serbia, στο John Hunyadi και στο Fustanella. --Telex 18:27, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open!
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
