She has worked at the United Nations and other international organizations and written several books.
In the book The Conditions of Agricultural Growth (from 1963) she, amongst other things, argues that technical, economical and social changes, are the results of increased population. This is in contrast to other writers in the field, such as Thomas_Malthus.
