Your submission at Articles for creation: Julie Apap (August 13)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Catrìona was: This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Misplaced Pages article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Misplaced Pages. Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit when they have been resolved. History

Please, stop trying to change the history . It's very annoying. Vanjagenije (talk) 19:57, 23 March 2022 (UTC)

That's just extremely insensitive in current climate. Kyiv was not part of RUSSIA in 1917 but of Russian Empire and Soviet Union, and it's important to mention that Kyiv is MODERN DAT UKRAINE. Check those wiki pages for references about History that you claim to know.
Ukrainian heritage has been eradicated for decades and incorporated with a pan-russian culture. Not at the time of war, for Ukrainian people like myself it is important to separate the two into legitimate categories, where all culture produced is not attributed to the colonising state.
Check your sources. Lettashtohr (talk) 12:20, 3 April 2022 (UTC)
Russian Empire (and in this case Russian Provisional Government) and Russia are synonymous. And if you acknowledge that it was part of the Russian Empire, why change it to Ukraine? It looks like deliberately introducing factual errors for the sake of WP:RIGHTINGGREATWRONGS and continuing this can lead to a block. Mellk (talk) 13:11, 3 April 2022 (UTC)
Russian empire is not a synonym for modern day Russia. I don't know even where to begin to explain that highly colonial pan-russianism. It's like saying that Budapest (Hungary) is now Austria, in a 19th century article because it was part of Austrian Empire then. One must not allow coloniser to inherit the cultural heritage of the temporary colonised lands beyond the time of the existence of the coloniser's Empire.
The comment that - --in April 1917 Kiev was part of Russia--> is just not true, Russia did not exist then. In until March 1917 Kyiv was Russian Empire, in March it was part of Ukrainian People's Republic and governed by Tsentralna Rada until 1922.
So no, in those 3 years Kyiv was not Russia but was more Ukrainian than ever in its history until it fully became Ukraine in 1991.
https://en.wikipedia.org/Central_Council_of_Ukraine
https://en.wikipedia.org/Ukrainian_People%27s_Republic
If we were to be exact and mention the actual origin of Deren, it will be closer to Ukraine or Ukrainian people's republic than to Russia, territory of the later did not include Kyiv when it was formed in 1991.
As for Gogol - in his time nationality like "Russian Empire" did not exist. If one considers his Ukrainian upbringing, origin where he was born and the anti Russian empirialist themes he covered in his works, his nationality = his ethnic origin (or Narodnost in Russian) which is Ukrainian and not Russian. Source - the article about Gogol. Lettashtohr (talk) 09:26, 4 April 2022 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for May 31

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Wiśniowiecki, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ukrainian. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to Eastern Europe or the Balkans, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Misplaced Pages’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Misplaced Pages administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Misplaced Pages;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Mellk (talk) 08:15, 10 June 2023 (UTC)

Please note that the community decided that non-extended-confirmed edits (such as you) may not edit articles on topic related to Russian-Ukrainian conflict. If you continue, your account can be blocked from editing. Ymblanter (talk) 08:30, 7 August 2023 (UTC)
