Article deletion (Draft:Ira Vouk)
Dear Jimfbleak. Thank you for your quick revision of Draft:Ira Vouk. It was deleted by you due to "G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion". I would like to inquire if it's allowed to re-write the page in a different manner and remove any references that may be deemed promotional? Ira Vouk is a notable figure in the hospitality industry and I believe that her contributions deserve a wiki page. I admire her for her work but I'm capable of remaining neutral and producing a less "colorful" article. Will you consider reinstating the draft so that I can edit it? If not, would you be so kind to suggest any other options that are available for this article to exist in wiki space? sincerely, --Faminalizblr (talk) 15:14, 13 October 2023 (UTC)

Kanha Singh and Vel Singh, The dacoits of Bhinmal
Hi Jimfbleak. At 12.14 today you deleted Kanha Singh and Vel Singh, The dacoits of Bhinmal, it has now been recreated as Kanha Singh and Vel Singh. As far as I can recall, this is identical to the deleted article. Presumably the same argument for deletion holds for the recreated article, whilst as the editor is just copypasting User:Rawna Praveen singh solanki under different titles should the user-page also be rev-delled? - Arjayay (talk) 12:52, 14 October 2023 (UTC)
- Arjayay, thanks. Not sure what to do about this user. That article appears to be in good faith, but there are obvious competency issues Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:59, 14 October 2023 (UTC)
- Agreed. Unfortunately their chosen topics are fairly contentious and subject to PoV pushing. I already have most on my checklist. Thanks anyway - Arjayay (talk) 13:07, 14 October 2023 (UTC)
- He's started recreating it again at Kanha Singh and Vel Singh. I don't think he will stop voluntarily, and the WP:CIR problems are getting worse - Arjayay (talk) 14:08, 14 October 2023 (UTC)

Deletion of European Piano Teachers Association
@Jimfbleak: You gave me no time to respond - I'd only just started the article. I assumed an article in Draft was not public and therefore not subject to Copyright, so I copied the information from its source to start the article, so I didn't have to flick back and forth across various sources. I had no intention at all of publishing the material as it was, to the public. Can you please either remove or hide the section of the article body that contains the copyrighted information and reinstate the article, or undelete the article so I can do this myself? Chrisdevelop (talk) 21:31, 15 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Chrisdevelop (talk page watcher) No part of Misplaced Pages is suitable to have copyright material placed in it. Breach of copyright is actually the use, misappropriation, of someone else's intellectual property, an unlawful act. Copyright material is removed as soon as it is spotted. This protects the intellectual property of the copyright owner and protects Misplaced Pages.
- A firm suggestion is for you to rewrite the material from scratch. You will be unable to "hide" the section yourself, and your request simply makes work for others to perform. 🇺🇦 Fiddle Faddle 🇺🇦 21:54, 15 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Timtrent Thank you for responding. I didn't know the general public could read an unfinished, unpublished Draft. The information I copied was only to have access to key dates in the history of EPTA, tiresome to have to fick back and forth between pages. But at no time was I intending to publish the copied text as is, and it was never my intention to deliberately "make work for others to perform". Can Sandbox be used to draft the article without being continually pulled down while it's under construction? Chrisdevelop (talk) 22:02, 15 October 2023 (UTC)
- I am gobsmacked that an editor with ten years of experience would be unaware that drafts are available to the public. (It may well have been unfinished, which technically applies to every single article in main space as well as draft space, but it wasn't unpublished, as should be obvious from the button labeled "publish changes" which you have collected over seven thousand times. If you insist that you didn't know, I'll assume good faith and accept that you didn't know. However, that doesn't change the well-established Misplaced Pages rules not to mention the law which prohibits the hosting of copyrighted material.S Philbrick(Talk) 23:31, 15 October 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for WP:AGF. “Gobsmacked” as you say you are, it has not been my practice to create new articles, only to help improve existing ones. This is only the third article I have in ten years attempted, the first two in 2016, and both of them started their lives in Sandbox, not as Draft articles. This draft met its end within an hour of being started. Nevertheless, I hope someone will soon be inspired to write an article for European Piano Teachers Association, as it is mentioned in several articles, and seems to me notable enough to warrant its own article.
- In the Misplaced Pages notice at the top of the Draft Article page, it states: “Draft article not currently submitted for review. This is a draft Articles for creation (AfC) submission. It is not currently pending review,” which I took to mean that no-one other than me could see it. The 'publish changes' button I took to be an OK button in the context of Draft, similar to the 'Print' button to save Page Setup in Print dialogues, that doesn't actually print anything.
- I assumed this Wizard would allow me to work on the article and only present it to the world after review and publication. Now, I know better, and thank you for clarifying this, albeit paternalistically. This is the first time I have used the Article Creation Wizard, and it wasn’t clear to me that draft articles are ipso facto published articles, leading me to wonder what the point of a draft or sandbox actually is. Chrisdevelop (talk) 23:57, 15 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Chrisdevelop The point of a draft or a sandbox is that it is a privileged area, allowing editors to work on unfinished things away from public gaze. Those spaces are protected from search engines, but are still subject to all laws.
- Generally, a sandbox is a test area (in my view) and Draft is for "real work". 🇺🇦 Fiddle Faddle 🇺🇦 07:41, 16 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Chrisdevelop To restate this, No part of Misplaced Pages is suitable to have copyright material placed in it. This means, literally, no part. Thus your question about a sandbox is answered.
- Please consider the laws of copyright, for this is what they are, laws. Imagine you have just written your own magnum opus, something that has taken years of study, years of work. You are proud of it. You hope to make your fortune from it. To promote it you publish an extract or you allow a major newspaper, under licence, to publish part of it.
- The next day you find this text in Misplaced Pages, released to the world this: "By clicking "Reply", you agree to our Terms of Use and agree to irrevocably release your text under the CC BY-SA 4.0 License and GFDL. You agree that a hyperlink or URL is sufficient attribution under the Creative Commons license." Someone has released your words, your work, to the world use ad lib. How do you feel now?
- Now, sandboxes and not "allowed" to be indexed by search engines. This is a technical web site thing, which does not always prevent it.That is the sole "protection" for work in a sandbox, and it os done because the work is not yet ready. But copyright violations are deleted on sight, wherever they are found.
- Your solution is to use your own computer. But beware close paraphrasing which is also a breach of copyright, and which will be removed as well. 🇺🇦 Fiddle Faddle 🇺🇦 07:38, 16 October 2023 (UTC)
- I believe we should not continue to usurp this user talk page for this discussion, and should continue on the talk page of the questioning editor.
- Jimfbleak apologies for a protracted discussion here, I thought, hoped, it would be a simple matter, easily resolved with my initial response. 🇺🇦 Fiddle Faddle 🇺🇦 07:56, 16 October 2023 (UTC)

Thanks everyone. I have put in a request at Misplaced Pages:Requested_articles/music#Organizations in the hope someone picks this up. I have done the same for another article I had been considering creating, but pulled down the draft for yesterday: Reid School of Music - Edinburgh University at WP:Requested_articles/music#Schools_and_music_education. Unreasonable deletion
I would like to know as to why the draft on Podim Conference was deleted. The event is of significant importance for entrepreneurship in Maribor and the wider country of Slovenia, as well as the Balkan area. The sources are various websites, even government websites, and newspaper websites that contribute to the legitimacy of the event. I have found similar events on Misplaced Pages as well, for example, Slush (event), which seems to be okay? The page for Podim was done in a similar manner. Granted, the conference is much smaller in scale, but its roots go way back to 1980 when the event first happened. The purpose of the page is definitely not advertisement by any means, just represents the role it has in the region, as well as the validity of the event. Feedback as to why it was so promptly deleted would be greatly appreciated, as well as some tips on how to improve it or make it appropriate for Misplaced Pages. Thank you in advance. Restoration of (Draft:FinanceGPT)
Hi @Jimfbleak:. Please establish the basis for the conflict of interest on the Draft:FinanceGPT article I drafted as the article is based on what is on the press and direct statements from financial institutions concerned. Are the articles quoted from TechCrunch and other publications conflicted?

Deletion of the Jeannie Deva page
Hi there! I realize my publication of the page was too hasty and I didn't make the text original enough, nor did I add enough varied sources. I sincerely apologize. I did do a lot of research though and spent a lot of time building the page so I wouldn't want it to go completely to waste. Would it be possible to retrograde the page back to a community draft? I'm not sure if that's possible on Misplaced Pages so I was wondering if you could help me out. Cheers. CanadianRocky69 (talk) 15:51, 17 October 2023 (UTC)

Deletion of Draft Gael Rakotondrabe English translation user:ALTWIKI23
Hey, on the 11th of October you deleted my translation draft French to English for Gael Rakotondrabe's wiki page. I do not understand why since I translated almost word per word the existing French text, and included all the references. I thought this draft should be uploaded as a translation for Gael Rakotondrabe's existing French page, since he worked mostly within English-speaking environments. How can this draft be uploaded, and what should I change for it to be accepted as a translation?
ALTWIKI23 (talk) 11:01, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- ALTWIKI23, not sure what you are asking me. Draft:Gael Rakotondrabe exists, I just moved it from the incorrect article title User:ALTWIKI23/Gael Rakotondrabe, which I then deleted as pointless. Look at your contributions tab Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:52, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- alright thanks, I am still confused with the workflow of wikipedia. Do you know a way to publish it as a translation to the French wiki page of Gael Rakotondrabee? As a none-experienced editor I do not have the possibility to do so.
- Thanks for any help. ALTWIKI23 (talk) 13:28, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- ALTWIKI23 When you are ready, clip the blue corner of the AFC box. Before you do that, you need to make sure all text is cited (discography doean't need refs) and clean up the refs, some of which are a mess. You also need to add {{Translated page|fr|Gael Rakotondrabe}} to the talk page and save Jimfbleak - talk to me? 14:47, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- ALTWIKI23 the problematic refs left (I fixed a couple) are using French Misplaced Pages templates, don't work here Jimfbleak - talk to me? 14:56, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
