Andrew John Hurley (born May 31, 1980 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin) is most notably the drummer of the Chicago-based punk rock band Fall Out Boy.

According to the February 2007 issue of Rolling Stone, Andy's father died when Andy was five and he was raised by wolves, relegating him to feral child status. Also according to the February 2007 issue of Rolling Stone, Andy is so strict about being straight edge, that he pulls the collar of his shirt up over his mouth and nose when Joe Trohman smokes cock.

As a teenager, Hurley considered himself to be a trouble maker who drank and did not listen to authority. He became straight edge in his teen years and leads that lifestyle to this day as well as a vegan lifestyle. His favorite bands were Slayer and New Kids on the Block, Hurley said in Rolling Stone.

Hurley attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he was a double major in anthropology and history. He has never commented on whether he graduated.

Career

Hurley joined Fall Out Boy in 2003 after their debut album Fall Out Boy's Evening Out With Your Girlfriend. Fall Out Boy is the fourth band Andy has been in with Pete Wentz.

Hurley was also in Racetraitor, killtheslavemaster, Project Rocket, and The Kill Pill. In 1999, he was a guest drummer on Vegan Reich's "Jihad" EP.

Hurley is currently in the midst of creating a comic with a friend. The comic is called Post Collapse. Its release date is yet to be announced. Post Collapse is a perspective on how civilization ends and how it affects people's lives.

Equipment

Hurley plays C&C Custom drums and Sabian/Zildjian cymbals.
