Merged with Citizenship education ?

I have discovered that we have also an article about Citizenship education: is it really different from Social Studies ? Couldn't we merge them ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Breizhou (talkcontribs) 10:13, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

Citizenship education, to my understanding, is about educating immigrants to a country about the culture and basic ideals of the populace of the nation so that they are socially prepared to live life in that new country. MrMonday1 (talk) 05:28, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
They are different and should not be merged. Social studies is taught to K-12 levels and includes subjects such as sociology, history, political science, economics, religion, geography, psychology, anthropology, and civics. Citizenship education focuses primarily on democracy, justice, rights and responsibilities, identities and diversity; it is somewhat comparable to the Government courses taught to U.S. high school students, a particular subject within Social studies. Social studies in India

Social Studies is a separate school subject India. Till 5th standard Geography, History, Civics, Economics are part of this subject. This might be probably true in other countries and not just the US. - Ravichandra (talk) 17:11, 24 November 2023 (UTC)
