    LEGO Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin (also known as LEGO Ninjago: Ronin no Kage in Japan) is a LEGO-themed single-player action-adventure handheld videogame developed by TT Games and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It was released on 24 March, 2015 in North America, 25 March, 2015 in Australia, 27 March, 2015 in Europe, and 3 September, 2015 in Japan. for the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita. It was later released for iOS and Android in November 2015.

    The game takes place between the fourth (Tournament of Elements) fifth (Possession) seasons of the Ninjago TV show. The game also serves as the third LEGO Ninjago videogame.

    A month earlier, LEGO Ninjago: Tournament came out for iOS and Android which revolves around the fourth season of the show. Ronin appeared as a boss in the game. He was also the only boss in the game which wasn't playable.

    Gameplay

    The story starts off with Ronin stealing the ninjas' memories. The ninjas now have to smash, build and explore their way through a daring adventure and stop Ronin's evil plans for good! The main antagonist is Ronin while the Dark Samurai serve as the evil clique of the game.

    The player controls one of the main characters from a third-person perspective, primarily fighting enemies, solving puzzles, and collecting LEGO 'studs', the game's form of currency. There are a total of 68 playable characters in the game (excluding multiple variants/outfits of all characters).

    Reception

    LEGO Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin received "mixed or average" reviews, according to review aggregator Metacritic.

    Nintendo Life rated the game 4/10, stating that the gameplay is "inexcusably stale". Common Sense Media on the other hand, rated it a 4/5, stating that "Lego Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin takes everything that kids love about the cartoon and packs it nicely into a handheld game."

    Pocket Gamer's review on the game states that the game's controls were "a frustrating, fumbling mess" and "Lego Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin is categorically not for everyone and will appeal to youngsters most of all."
