New page reviewer

Sorry, unregistered users cannot be granted permissions due to technical restrictions. Please create an account in order to request user account permissions. (add request · view requests) Shortcuts See Misplaced Pages:New pages patrol/Reviewers#Guidelines for granting for the granting guidelines. Guidelines include account age at least 90 days old, at least 500 edits to mainspace, demonstrated knowledge of page quality control (usually shown through participation in processes such as WP:AFD, WP:CSD, WP:AFC reviewing, etc.), no blocks or 3RR violations in the past 6 months, and no indications of undisclosed paid editing. Applicants should show some evidence that they generally meet the guidelines, have a demonstrated need for the right, and that they have read and fully understood the tutorial at Misplaced Pages:New pages patrol. Editors may want to consider WP:NPPSCHOOL before applying.

I want to be a net positive and help review pages and cut down on possible backlogs. Noorullah (talk) 03:46, 6 December 2023 (UTC)

Re-requesting rights after my probationary period ended (I went inactive for a period there because of irl events). Want to continue to help out reviewing articles. ~ F4U (talkthey/it) 01:18, 8 December 2023 (UTC)

Done for a 2 month trial. Please re-apply about a week before the trial period is set to end. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:35, 11 December 2023 (UTC)

User:Pfomma

I have requested the right before and have since addressed issues previously raised by administrators. I check new Misplaced Pages pages I'm looking forward to extending my contributions to reviewing new pages. I wanted to help clear the NPP backlog and need the permission to be able to use the toolbar to assist in the process. I would like to help in reducing the backlog and making the site a better place. Thank you Pfomma (talk) 19:32, 10 December 2023 (UTC)

Not done. @Pfomma, when I declined your previous request I recommended that you spend a bit of time contributing at WP:AFD and/or WP:AFC. Since that time, you've voted in one AfD and started another for an article that you actually created. Additionally, you added an undisclosed paid editing tag to that same article here. You also added a G7 CSD tag to the article and added an AfD discussion tag at the same time, both of which were removed with the CSD tag being declined and the AfD tag being removed because you failed to start the discussion. You tried to add a G7 CSD tag and AfD link a second time, but this time you did start the AfD discussion (though the G7 was again declined). I have several concerns with your actions on this article alone, so I'm declining this application for a number of reasons which include you adding an undisclosed paid editing tag to an article you created, your lack of experience with CSD processes, and your lack of experience at AfD. I strongly encourage you to declare any conflicts of interest that you may have on your user page and be aware that those who have been paid to edit are not typically granted the NPR permission. User:Nagol0929

My last request was denied a long time ago for accusations of UPE and that I wasn’t spending enough time reviewing each article. I have now matured as a Wikipedian and I want to help reduce backlogs. I have experience with AFC and I also have some experience with NPP from my temporary right. I will spend more time on each article and be sure to stay up to date with relevant policies. Nagol0929 (talk) 13:22, 11 December 2023 (UTC)

Pinging @Rosguill, as they were the one who declined the previous request. Just in case they are interested in processing this or chiming in. Hey man im josh (talk) 14:51, 11 December 2023 (UTC)
After reviewing recent contributions, I"m going to say  Not done--while Nagol0929's AfD track record is respectable, I'm less impressed by the recent AfC work, which included accepting an article that fell short of WP:NFF. signed, Rosguill 23:24, 11 December 2023 (UTC)
@Rosguill How long should I wait before applying again? Nagol0929 (talk) 12:43, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
I think a few months of active AfC and AfD work would demonstrate the track record that would be needed to reapply. signed, Rosguill 16:45, 12 December 2023 (UTC)

I am willing to help with NPP. I have experience in AfD and NPP and understand the relevant guidelines/policies.  // Timothy :: talk  17:28, 11 December 2023 (UTC)

User:Ficaia

I've been here a while and regularly tag new pages for issues casually. I also participate in AfDs and make articles, so I have a fair understanding of the relevant policy and guidelines. It was suggested on my talk page I might apply for this. 𝕱𝖎𝖈𝖆𝖎𝖆 (talk) 18:53, 11 December 2023 (UTC)

I am responding to a request by Raydann to help with new page reviewing. I would love to do this. I am basically a creator of articles myself, and a photographer for Commons, so I would not be doing new page reviiewing full time, but I would be happy to help with the backlog now and then, as required. I have helped a lot in the past with the backlog of DYK reviewing, and find that a satisfying job - there's a lot of worthwhile articles going through there. And sometimes you get a chance to suggest improvements, or help with copyediting. I'm happy to help with improvement to Standard English where appropriate, while leaving American English alone. I am more likely to make a big effort to assist improvement of a few articles well and properly, than to run through, loads, going "Delete, delete" , because that is my character - but let's see how it works out. Let me know if you need to know more. Storye book (talk) 21:18, 11 December 2023 (UTC)

Understood, thank you. ❯❯❯ Raydann 22:40, 11 December 2023 (UTC)

Requesting for permanent NPP rights after a 1-month trial. During this trial, I fully understood the NPR guidelines, got used with reviewing articles, and utilized the features of Page Curation, like maintenance tagging, deletion tagging and message-sending. I also familiarized myself with the AfC process (which I am new to) and read the guidelines. I am quite confident that my reviews are constructive and I am a net positive contributor to the huge NPP log. I understand that my number of reviews might not be that large, but I consider quality over quantity, and I try my best to not accept junk and filter them out quickly. In conclusion, I believe I am competent enough to continue to contribute to NPP. Thank you very much for considering! Timothytyy (talk) 02:33, 12 December 2023 (UTC)

I humbly apply for the right to review pages and mark pages as reviewe. I have worked and shown participation in processes such as WP:AFD, WP:CSD, WP:AFC reviewing, et cetara. I always like to help assuming the good faith of Misplaced Pages as well as the large backlog of New pages feed. Thanks so much.

I was encouraged by @Chetsford to volunteer at NPP where I could ease the burden there too. I am auto-patrolled, but would like to spend some time reviewing articles and pages, as it fast for me which is helpful for the project. Willing to go on under probationary period if its thought necessary. PD Slessor (talk) 11:02, 12 December 2023 (UTC)

Not done Thank you for your interest in helping out, but you don't yet appear to have experience in the areas we usually check for granting NPP, such as WP:AFD, WP:AFC, WP:CSD, etc. Please build a little more experience, get really comfortable with notability, then reapply when you're ready. Happy editing. –Novem Linguae (talk) 11:09, 12 December 2023 (UTC)

Requesting again, per request by Chetsford ] PD Slessor (talk) 04:57, 13 December 2023 (UTC)

@PD Slessor. Chetsford just left a standard {{Autopatrolled granted}} template that is left to everyone, which has some text in it to try to recruit new page reviewers. However, as I said above, I am not seeing enough experience to qualify for NPP at this time.  Not done. Please wait 90 days before reapplying. –Novem Linguae (talk) 05:28, 13 December 2023 (UTC)
Ok, will do. Thank you. PD Slessor (talk) 05:33, 13 December 2023 (UTC)
Not done per Novem Linguae. PD Slessor - sorry, I probably imperfectly worded my reply to your post. What I meant was it would be better for the request to be registered here for review. I didn't mean to imply that it was a rubber-stamp action, but I understand how my response may have given that impression. For bookkeeping purposes, I'm declining per Novem Linguae's review (above). However, please keep up the good work; I'm sure you'll get a green-light on this one before you know it. The project appreciates your willingness to help in this area.
