  • 1866 - The Atlantic Cable is successfully completed, allowing transatlantic telegraph communication for the first time
  • 1956 - TAT-1 (Transatlantic No. 1), laid between Scotland and Newfoundland, was the first submarine transatlantic telephone cable system

Timeline chart

Sorry for lack of suggestions on how to improve the chart "File:Timeline_of_communication_tools,_2014_update..jpg", but there are innumerable things wrong with it. The article is more informative without the chart at all. Insignificant1 (talk) 21:52, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
