Original run: January 2004 -- present (FACT)

the title says everything, so, DO NOT, i repeat, DO NOT, CHANGE THE LAST RUN OF THE SHOW FROM "PRESENT" to anything like "2009" or "2008" because, yes we know the end date, we also know the end date to Lost, and i don't see its "Original Run" section chaging. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Meteoritu (talkcontribs) 01:22, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

Season 6 cast, NOT CONFIRMED

Stop, please, stop stating who will appear in the 6th season cast, in the main cast section. I found Alice, for an example, with spanning seasons from 1 to 6. We also thought Papi was going to be in the 5th season cast, and look where that ended up! And about Papi, how do we know if she we will guest star in season 6? How do we know if Carmen, will guest star in season 6, seeing thought it's stated there, yet again, for the 10th time! Anyways, LEAVE IT ALONE! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Meteoritu (talkcontribs) 04:19, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

Papi's Disappearance

"The fifth season lead to the mysterious disappearance of Eva "Papi" Torres (Janina Gavankar), as well as the departure of (season four reoccurring guest star) Paige Sobel (portrayed by Kristanna Loken). An explanation on Papi’s disappearance has yet to be discussed on the show or by the writers/producers of “The L Word”. The show has moved on as if Papi had never existed."

Why is there so much information about a character who is NOT in the season? Mark's disappearance was never mentioned this way. The season synopses are very inconsistent and detail just a few of the important things that happened. AboveDust (talk) 08:48, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

Yes I know what you mean, but this is different because Papi was a main character and very close to the whole circle of friends and Mark wasn't, besides, Mark's disappearance has an explanation, he was forced to leave - Papi hasn't got an explanation... meteoritu (talk) 15:40, 30 January 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.126.217.34 (talk)
You are incorrect. Mark's storyline ended with him leaving his key, but Jenny telling him to stay because she wanted him to deal with the consequences of his actions. He took back the key agreeing to stay, but never appeared again.
Also, many people would not consider Papi a main character. She only appeared in one season and was not "very close to the whole circle of friends". She was only close to Kit and Tasha and had no significant storylines that weren't connected to them or Shane. She didn't spend much time with Alice or Helena and only hung out with the rest of the group at the basketball game, where she wasn't exactly liked. Papi called the whole group "bougie asses" and was generally dismissive of them.
Mark and Papi had equal screen time and importance to the show. He came to The Planet and interacted with all the friends, not to mention his actions having serious consequences in the Shane/Carmen and Jenny/Carmen relationships. AboveDust (talk) 00:04, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
I still state that Mark's disapperance has kind of a logical explanation and you know what? Now that i think of it, after watching 5.10 "Lifecycle", when Tasha said to Alice that the old friends she found were friends of her and Papi's, they still mention her sometimes, she's not necessarily out of the characters lives, we just don't see them in the series. And by the way, we don't know if she's out for good, we don't know if even Helena's gone for good, we thought Marina was, still she made an appearance in season 4. meteoritu (talk) 13:50, March 11th 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.180.1.154 (talk)
Someone has already changed it to a list of characters that left after season four without emphasizing Papi, so it is much more balanced and unbiased. The issue is now resolved. AboveDust (talk) 22:23, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
Well, Papi is back on business... with Gabby Deveaux... isn't that nice? --TLW (talk) 21:27, 29 January 2009 (UTC).

Update The Chart

In the episode 5.01: "LGB Tease" the chart wasn't shown in any moment and yet the chart here in wikipedia was updated, but now, three episodes have past and so far, Shane has slept with 5 girls (two of them being the owners of SheBar - Cindi and Dawn), Tina with one and Helena with "Dusty", but the chart wasn't updated and it was shown a portion of the chart in episode 5.04: "Let's get this party started"... meteoritu (talk) 15:47, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

So... I've made a chart following the original one's idea, but i'm still missing the names of three girls that Shane slept with (the bridesmaids) and the girl Tina slept with in the beggining of the 5th season... any help? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Meteoritu (talkcontribs) 01:19, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

The Chart has been updated as of 01.29.2009... I guess we can wait until the Sixth Season Finale to make final tweakings to it. --TLW (talk) 21:32, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

"Main Cast" Character List

Certain characters that are not credited for in the opening screen have been added as main cast for the show in the article. These "guest appearances" include Kate French, Clementine Ford, & Meiling Melançon. Note that these characters have always been credited as "guests", which differs from the case of those played by Eric Lively, Eric Mabius, Marlee Matlin or Karina Lombard for that matter. French's character (Niki Stevens) has as much visibility a Malaya Rivera-Drew's (Adele Channing), which did not make the list. All these "guest appearances" should be removed from the main character list down to the Guest Appearances. --TLW (talk) 15:00, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

WikiProject Television Assessment

I have asked for a review of the article by WikiProject Television. I am hoping to get some guidance into improving any notable weaknesses --TLW (talk) 02:55, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Second Peer Review Verdict

According to the peer review on the article, The References in Pop Culture section violates WP:TRIVIA, and thus should be deleted. I will go through the citations and see which of these could be moved into other sections but the purpose of this message is to inform that the section will be removed to adhere to Misplaced Pages Standards. --TLW (talk) 20:43, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

Succesfully went through all cited references and merged the most important information (series referencing the show) into the Reception Section. Hence, the 'References in Pop Culture' section has been succesfully deleted from the article.--TLW (talk) 04:12, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

Season Synopses Editing

As of 5/20, The Synopses for the Interrogation Tapes, along with Seasons 2, 4, 5 and 6 have been edited as to remove as much in-universe information as possible to upgrade the article's quality. Season three is still pending some editing.--TLW (talk) 04:12, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

Season 3 succesfully reduced, hoping to adhere to the Peer Review Guidelines. --TLW (talk) 04:59, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

¶ This has probably been much belabored but it is NOT clear in Season 6 (the final season) if Jenny Schecter is dead or merely injured. The internet "L Word Interrogation Tapes" finish with the police detective (Lucy Lawless) asking one of the characters "Who said that she was dead?" When her inert body is brought through the living room (unnecessarily, I think), it is not covered nor in a body bag -- on the other hand, there is no breathing apparatus or intravenous tubes. Nobody is arrested and the characters are all "invited" to come to the police station, on their own, in the middle of the night. It was never resolved what had happened; whether Jenny was found in the swimming pool or at the foot of the balcony stairs or what, nor whether it was an accident, a suicide attempt or some sort of foul play. Of course, by the end of the season the number of characters without a motive to do her harm was quite small. Sussmanbern (talk) 04:15, 4 April 2012 (UTC)

The Chart Editing

This note serves to inform that The Chart section will be undergoing massive editing as to improve the article's quality. --04:12, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

As of 6/07 The Chart Subsection Edited as to adhere to Peer Review Guidelines --TLW (talk) 05:01, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

Location

While much of the series is obviously filmed in southern California, the production section mentions Vancouver:

"The L Word was filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, at Coast Mountain Films Studios,..."

The relationship and process need to be made more clear. The current wording is contradictory. Filmfluff (talk) 16:32, 29 September 2010 (UTC)

Since no one else has done it yet, I have simply added text from the endings of many of the episodes so that the LA connection is made plain. Filmfluff (talk) 19:34, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

Papi

The Papi page should be restored. It has more information on the character than the merged article.
