Mohammad Reza Zahedi (Template:Lang-fa; 1944 – 1 April 2024) was an Iranian senior military officer in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. He previously commanded its Air Force and Ground Force and was one of the top commander of Quds Force in Syria and Lebanonat the time of his death. He was killed by an Israeli airstrike in the Syrian capital Damascus during the Israel–Hamas war.

Death

On 1 April 2024, Zahedi was killed by an Israeli airstrike that targeted the Iranian embassy in the Syrian capital Damascus. Five members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and two Iranian advisors were also killed in the airstrike.

His assasination was a war crime committed by the IAF, directly breaking Article 8b, ii, vi and v.
