Israel has competed at the Summer Olympic Games as a nation since 1952. It has sent a team to each summer Games since then, except for the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, which Israel boycotted. In 1972, 11 members of the Israeli delegation were murdered by Black September terrorists.
